Spring and autumn are pleasant transitional periods with comfortable temperatures and a moderate number of sunny days, perfect for excursions and walking tours.

The climate in Valletta is characterised by noticeable but smooth temperature fluctuations throughout the year. The hottest months are undoubtedly July and August, when the average daytime temperature confidently stays in the range of 26-27°C, and maximum values can reach 27.6-28.5°C. During these months, nights also remain very warm, with minimum temperatures around 24.6-25.8°C. The coolest period is considered to be January and February. In February, the average temperature is about 14.0°C, with minimum night-time temperatures around 12.9°C and daytime highs up to 15.1°C. January is only slightly warmer.

In September and October, when average temperatures are a pleasant 22-25°C, the weather is still very warm, almost summer-like. Your wardrobe can consist mainly of light clothing, but it is worth bringing a thin jumper, cardigan, or light windbreaker for evening walks or in case the wind picks up. The months of May and November (average temperature around 19°C) also offer comfortable conditions. The layering principle will be relevant here: t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, light jumpers or fleece jackets, as well as a light jacket. Do not forget that November can be rainy. The coolest of the transitional months are March and April (average temperatures 14.7°C - 16.0°C). For these, it is recommended to dress in layers, including t-shirts, long-sleeved tops, jumpers, and a jacket. Regardless of the season, comfortable shoes for walking on the cobbled streets of Valletta are an absolute necessity. Also, given the coastal location, a light scarf or shawl may be useful for protection against the wind, especially in the off-season and winter.
