The climate in Fujairah is characterized as hot desert (arid). This means that for most of the year, the weather is sunny and dry. The city is distinguished by high temperatures, especially during the summer period, and minimal rainfall throughout the year, making it an ideal destination for lovers of warmth and sun.

Two main seasons can be distinguished in Fujairah. Summer, which lasts roughly from May to September, is very hot and arid, with average temperatures often exceeding 30-33°C, and maximum values reaching 36-38°C. Winter, covering the period from December to February, is significantly milder and more pleasant: average temperatures hover around 19-23°C, creating comfortable conditions for walking and exploring the city. The spring (March-April) and autumn (October-November) months are transitional, with gradual increases or decreases in temperature. Precipitation here is a rare phenomenon; most of the year passes practically without rain, especially from May to December, when the number of rainy days approaches zero.

The temperature regime in Fujairah demonstrates a distinct annual pattern with a hot summer and a mild winter. The hottest month is usually June, when the average temperature reaches 33.5°C, and maximum daily highs can rise to 37.9°C. July is also very hot, with an average temperature of 33.4°C. The coolest month is considered to be January, with an average temperature of about 19.5°C, minimum night temperatures around 15.8°C, and daily highs in the region of 23.1°C.

The summer period, spanning the months from May to September, is characterized by persistent heat. In May, the average temperature is already 31.0°C, and in June, July, and August, it holds at the level of 32.5-33.5°C. Daytime temperatures in these months regularly exceed 35-36°C, and sometimes approach the 38°C mark, especially in June. Nights also remain very warm, with minimum temperatures rarely dropping below 26-29°C. This period is distinguished by an almost complete absence of precipitation, highlighting the arid nature of Fujairah's climate.

Winter in Fujairah, which lasts from December to February, offers significantly more comfortable weather conditions. Monthly average temperatures during this period range from 19.5°C in January to 21.2°C in December. During the day, the air warms up to a pleasant 23-25°C, and at night the temperature drops to 15-18°C, creating a refreshing coolness. Throughout the year, noticeable diurnal temperature fluctuations are observed: the difference between daily highs and nightly lows is usually about 7-9°C, which is particularly perceptible during the transitional seasons and winter.

Precipitation in Fujairah is an extremely rare phenomenon, which fully corresponds to its hot desert climate. The city receives a minimal amount of moisture throughout the year, and there is no distinct rainy season to speak of. Rather, one can identify short periods with insignificant rainfall and long, practically absolutely dry intervals.

The greatest, albeit very modest, amount of precipitation falls in the first third of the year. From January to April, about 1 mm of precipitation is recorded monthly. January is the month with the highest number of days with precipitation – on average 3 days. In February and March, the number of such days decreases to two, and in April – to just one day. Starting from May until the end of December, the average monthly rainfall is 0 mm, indicating the onset of a prolonged dry period.

Even on those few days when it rains in Fujairah, the rains are generally very weak and brief, more like a light drizzle than full-blown downpours. Absolutely dry months, when not only is no measurable precipitation recorded but the number of days with it equals zero, are June, August, and September. In May, July, October, November, and December, despite zero precipitation according to data, 1-2 days may be observed where traces of moisture are recorded, but this is negligible.

When planning a trip to Fujairah, it is important to choose the right wardrobe to feel comfortable in the hot desert climate conditions. Warm and sunny weather prevails throughout the year, so the basis of your luggage should be light, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics such as cotton or linen. Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and high SPF sunscreen to protect against the active sun, especially in the summer months when temperatures can be very high. Comfortable open footwear, such as sandals or flip-flops, will be ideal for most situations.

In summer, from May to September, when daytime temperatures regularly exceed 35°C, choose the lightest and lightest-colored clothing possible. Shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, and swimwear will be your main essentials. Despite the heat, it can be cool in some public places and shopping malls due to air conditioning, so a light wrap or shawl may come in handy. In winter, from December to February, the weather becomes significantly milder, with average temperatures around 19-23°C. It is still warm during the day, but evenings can be cool, so it is worth taking a light jacket, cardigan, or jumper. The principle of layering will be very useful here.

Given that precipitation in Fujairah is extremely rare, especially from May to December, you likely won't need an umbrella. However, if your trip falls during the period from January to April, when isolated days with slight rainfall are theoretically possible, you might want to bring a compact umbrella or a light waterproof windbreaker just in case, although the probability of using them is low. Regardless of the season, comfortable walking shoes are a must if you plan to explore the city and its surroundings.
