A refund under these circumstances is usually available in the event of the passenger's death. Some airlines may also approve a refund if the passenger's close relative has passed away. Close relatives include a spouse, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, as well as a full or half sibling.

To request a refund, you must provide:

  • death certificate;

  • documents confirming kinship (birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate — depending on the relationship and passengers' surnames).

Original supporting documents must be scanned or photographed, with a separate color scan for each page.

Please note: if the carrier is foreign, the conditions may differ from those stated. For example, a certified translation into English or another language may be required. It should also be noted that not every country's legislation recognizes the concept of an "involuntary refund," and therefore such a request may be denied.

Important nuance: airlines usually consider an involuntary refund provided that the passenger notified them of the situation and canceled their seats before check-in closed.

To process everything correctly, contact us — we will take your request and remove you from the flight. If there is little time left before check-in closes, in addition to contacting us, we recommend contacting the airline directly.
