What can and cannot be carried in hand luggage?
You can bring most personal items in your carry-on baggage as long as they comply with your airline’s size and weight limits and are not prohibited by aviation security regulations.
Before your trip, we recommend checking how much carry-on baggage is included with your ticket. Allowances vary depending on the airline and fare type.
What you can bring in your carry-on baggage
You can usually take:
clothing and personal belongings;
travel documents;
a phone, laptop, tablet, and other electronic devices;
chargers and power banks;
medications;
baby food;
snacks;
liquids, provided they comply with carry-on liquid restrictions.
If you're unsure whether you can bring a particular item, we recommend checking the carry-on baggage rules on the website of the airline operating your flight.
What you can't bring on board
Items that may pose a risk to passengers or the crew are not allowed in carry-on baggage. These include, for example:
weapons and replica weapons;
explosives and flammable substances;
toxic substances;
most sharp or cutting objects.
How much carry-on baggage you can bring
The permitted size, weight, and number of carry-on items depend on the airline and your fare type.
Need to add carry-on baggage or checked baggage after booking your ticket?
If you've already purchased your ticket and later decide that you need a larger carry-on baggage allowance or want to add checked baggage, that's not a problem.
We'll check whether this option is available for your ticket and help you arrange it.
