Keep in mind that the M-11 highway is a toll road, so familiarize yourself with the tariffs and payment methods in advance. An alternative is the free M-10 highway, but be prepared for the travel time to increase: you will have to pass through many populated areas, which means traffic jams are possible.

However, this makes the journey even more exciting: during the trip, you can visit Tver, Veliky Novgorod, Vyshny Volochek, and other cities, no less interesting than your final destination. If you plan to stay somewhere on the way to St. Petersburg, it's best to plan your route in advance and book accommodation — especially if the stopover is in a small village where tourist infrastructure is not as developed.
