Baggage and Hand Luggage on Utair Flights
How wonderful it would be if all airlines had the same baggage and hand luggage requirements. But alas. In this article, we will analyze the baggage rules of the carrier «Utair».
Effective February 1, 2019, Utair's fares on all regular flights are changing. Baggage and hand luggage rules are also changing.
Hand luggage
This is a bag, backpack, or briefcase that you take with you on the plane, and it has its own size and weight requirements. Utair has 2 types of hand luggage:- Standard hand luggage for passengers with tickets of any fare: size 40×30×20 cm, weight 5 kg.
- Large hand luggage (in addition to standard) for passengers with «Premium» and «Business» fares: size 55×40×25 cm, weight 10 kg.
In addition to hand luggage, you are allowed to carry:
- A bouquet of flowers.
- A cane umbrella.
- Outerwear.
- Baby food for the child for the duration of the flight.
- A suit in a garment bag.
- A baby bassinet, child restraint systems for children under two years old, a baby stroller, and other devices) when transporting a child, which can be placed in the aircraft cabin on the overhead bin or under the seat, with dimensions not exceeding 65×40×20 cm. Child devices are allowed for carriage only with the child.
- Medications, special dietary needs in the amount required for the duration of the flight. Medications beyond what is needed during the flight must be checked as baggage.
- Crutches, canes, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchairs, which can be placed on the shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat.
- Duty-free items from airport shops, packed in one sealed plastic bag, weighing no more than 3 kg.
Transportation of musical instruments
Passengers with the «Minimum» fare can carry musical instruments measuring 40×30×20 cm. To carry a larger instrument, you need to purchase an additional hand luggage space up to 55×40×25 cm. Passengers with other fares can carry musical instruments as hand luggage only if they fit within the dimensions of 55×40×25 cm.What is prohibited in hand luggage?

Suitcases and bags exceeding the allowed hand luggage dimensions must be checked as baggage. Passengers with «Optimum» and «Premium» fares are entitled to 1 piece of baggage weighing up to 20 kg and measuring up to 203 cm in sum of 3 dimensions. Business class passengers can check 2 pieces of baggage weighing up to 30 kg with the same dimensions. Baggage for children. Regardless of the service class, passengers under 2 years old with a ticket without a seat can bring on board 1 piece of hand luggage measuring 40×30×20 cm and weighing up to 5 kg, as well as baby food, a bassinet, and a stroller (according to FAP standards).Excess Baggage
Excess baggage and hand luggage can always be purchased – this applies to passengers of all fares. However, it is better to do this at the ticket purchase stage – it's cheaper that way. It will be more expensive at the airport, and you will also pay a fine at boarding. Surcharge for excess baggage:1 piece of baggage up to 10 kg, 55x40x25 cm — 25€ when purchasing a ticket; 30€ at check-in; and 30€ + 25€ fine at boarding. 1 piece of baggage up to 20 kg, 203 cm in sum of three dimensions — 40€ when purchasing a ticket; 50€ at check-in; and 50€ + 25€ fine at boarding.A passenger can carry 1 set weighing no more than 20 kg free of charge in addition to the baggage allowance for their fare, except for flights to Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, Fergana, and Dushanbe.
- 1 cover with 1 pair of skis and 1 pair of poles.
- 1 piece of baggage with 1 pair of boots and 1 helmet.
- 1 cover with 1 snowboard.
- 1 piece of baggage with 1 pair of boots and 1 helmet.
- 1 bicycle in a cover or box.
- 1 cover with 2 hockey sticks.
- 1 electric scooter with a detachable battery up to 160 Watt×h capacity (battery is carried in hand luggage). A scooter with a non-removable battery is transported by checking it in at the airport cargo terminal.
