To ensure your journey through Keperveyem Airport goes as smoothly and comfortably as possible, follow our tips. By planning the details in advance, you can avoid unnecessary stress and save time in one of the most unusual airports in Russia.
Arrival Time and Check-in. Keperveyem Airport is small, so long queues are rare here. We recommend arriving 1.5–2 hours before departure. This is enough time to check in for your flight and pass through security without rushing. If possible, check in online—this will save you time.
Choosing a Seat on the Plane. Flights in this region offer a chance to see breathtaking landscapes. If you want to enjoy views of the boundless tundra and mountains, choose a window seat. If freedom of movement is more important to you, choose an aisle seat.
Hand Luggage. Standard rules apply: it is prohibited to carry liquids in containers larger than 100 ml, sharp objects, and other dangerous items in hand luggage. You can and should take documents, money, gadgets, a portable charger, and necessary medicines into the cabin. A light snack will also be useful.
Security Control Features. Since the airport serves domestic flights, there is no customs control here. You will only have to pass the standard pre-flight security check, where you will need to present your hand luggage, outerwear, and electronic devices.
For Passengers with Connections. Keperveyem is rarely used as a transit hub. If you do have a transfer planned, check with the airline in advance whether you need to collect your luggage and re-register it. Leave a sufficient time margin between flights, especially considering the changeable weather in the region.
Saving Time and Money. Air tickets to remote regions are best purchased in advance—this increases the chances of finding favourable fares. Travel light to avoid paying for excess baggage. Prices for food and drinks at airports are usually high, so you can bring an empty water bottle (it can be filled after security) and non-perishable snacks.
In Case of Flight Delay. Severe weather conditions in Chukotka are a frequent cause of delays. If your flight is postponed, first contact the airline representative for information. Remember your rights: in the event of a long delay, you are entitled to beverages, hot meals, and if necessary, hotel accommodation. A book, a film on a tablet, or a charged power bank will help pass the time while waiting for departure.
