Majestically towering over the right bank of the Irtysh River, the Resurrection Cathedral is a true symbol that graces modern Khanty-Mansiysk. This five-domed temple, built in the best traditions of late 19th-century Russian architecture, is striking in its scale: the height of its main dome reaches nearly 60 meters. The cathedral serves as the spiritual heart of all Yugra and is visible from almost any point in the city.

The temple complex is a harmonious ensemble which, in addition to the main cathedral, includes an Orthodox gymnasium, the baptismal Church of Prince Vladimir, and a cozy chapel. An impressive 140-meter cascade of stairs with waterfalls leads to the foot of the shrine, and a walk along it sets a solemn mood. Biblical commandments are carved on granite steles along the ascent, reminding every guest who arrives in this northern corner of Russia of eternal values.
Inside the temple, visitors will find an equally magnificent sight—large-scale frescoes covering a total area of more than 4,000 square meters. The walls are painted in a noble Serbian-Byzantine style, and a massive chandelier (panikadilo) created by Omsk masters shines under the dome. This place wonderfully combines the strictness of canons with a cozy atmosphere, attracting both pilgrims and connoisseurs of fine art.
