This distance requires planning your trip in advance. Fortunately, there are several convenient ways for travellers to reach the terminal, varying in cost, travel time, and comfort level.

The most budget-friendly way to get to the airport is by public transport. Special buses run from various points in Saratov. For example, the express route No. 101E departs from the railway station and reaches the airport without unnecessary stops. There are also other routes connecting the airport with different districts of the city. A bus trip will take about 1.5–2 hours depending on the departure point and traffic conditions. This is an excellent choice for those travelling light and looking to save money.

For those who value comfort and speed, the optimal option is a taxi or a pre-booked transfer. You can use services via mobile apps popular in Russia or order a car by phone. A taxi ride from the centre of Saratov to Gagarin Airport will take approximately 40–60 minutes, excluding traffic jams. The airport operates one passenger terminal, which serves both domestic and international flights. This solution eliminates the need for complex transfers between buildings and makes navigation as simple and fast as possible.

The terminal layout is logical and intuitive. The building is divided into several levels and zones. Typically, the departure zone is located on the upper floor, and the arrival zone is on the ground floor. Thanks to clear signs in Russian and English, finding the necessary check-in counter, boarding gate, or baggage claim area is not difficult. It was here that he studied at an industrial technical college, trained at a local flying club, and, most symbolically, landed after his legendary flight into space on April 12, 1961.
