What to Do

The main reason to visit Big Cuppa is, of course, the top-quality coffee. Be sure to try their signature house-roasted blends, such as the light and aromatic Broadway Blend or the more intense Spro'Town, which is perfect for espresso. Fans of unique flavors will appreciate the signature drinks, like the honey lavender latte made with local ingredients, or seasonal hits like the rosemary maple latte.

\n\n

Beyond the drinks, you can enjoy a hearty bite here. The menu always features fresh homemade pastries, as well as fragrant seasonal soups and sandwiches. If you're lucky, you might catch an exclusive series of coffee aged in spirits barrels from the local Rock Town distillery—the result of an interesting collaboration between local artisans.

\n\n

Big Cuppa also serves as a cultural hub. It regularly hosts free community events, ranging from local artist exhibitions to fun karaoke nights and trivia. It’s a great place not only to drink coffee but also to feel the pulse of the local community.

Getting There

The coffee shop is located in the heart of the historic city center at 205 E Broadway St, Morrilton, AR 72110. It is situated in a very picturesque spot—right between the famous historic Rialto Theater and the old bank building. Thanks to this location, finding the establishment will be easy even for those visiting the area for the first time.

\n\n

The most convenient way to get to Big Cuppa is by car or on foot if you are already downtown. Convenient parking is provided for drivers. If you prefer a taxi, you can easily call a car from anywhere in the city or from nearby transport hubs. It’s worth noting that the establishment also has a second location on the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) campus, which is convenient for students and faculty.

History & Facts

The history of this place began in March 2017, when a married couple, Jamie and Marty Couch, decided to bring their dream to life. While working at the local college, they saw potential in the historic downtown and sincerely wanted to create a space that would bring residents together and lift the community spirit. Their son Joe, who already had significant industry experience and Specialty Coffee Association certification at the time, joined the family business.

\n\n

Interestingly, the owners originally planned to launch their own bean roasting operation only five years after opening. However, the incredible support from the local community allowed them to achieve this ambitious goal in just their second year of operation. This transformed Big Cuppa from a local cafe into a serious player in the state's coffee market.

\n\n

The success of the enterprise was officially recognized at a high level: in 2022, Jamie Couch was honored with the title of "Arkansas Small Business Person of the Year" by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Today, the small family business has grown into a brand that supplies its coffee and signature syrups not only across the country but also internationally.

Time Needed

If you just want to stop by, order a drink, and appreciate the taste of freshly roasted coffee, 30–45 minutes will be enough. This is a great option for a short break while walking around the city.

\n\n

However, if you want to fully immerse yourself in the local atmosphere, chat with residents, or attend one of the community events like karaoke or trivia, we recommend setting aside 1 to 2 hours for your visit. The cozy interior and friendly environment encourage a long and pleasant stay.

Working Hours

The coffee shop welcomes guests six days a week. Big Cuppa's doors are open from Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 16:00. This is the perfect time for both an early breakfast and an afternoon coffee.

Please note that the establishment is closed on Sundays. Before visiting on holidays, we recommend checking the current schedule on the coffee shop's official website.
