The departure date must fall within the period of the passenger's illness/incapacity, or the medical certificate must specify a period during which air travel is contraindicated for the patient.

Any medical document can be submitted as confirmation: 

• certificate,

• extract from medical history, discharge summary,

• conclusion of the medical commission;

• incapacity for work certificate (extract from electronic incapacity for work certificate — ELN);

• ambulance call sheet;

• certificate from the health center about being grounded from flight.

The document must contain:

• clearly legible name of the institution that issued the document;

• details of this institution;

• seal of the institution that issued the document;

• clearly legible position and surname of the person who issued the document;

• date of issue of the document;

• surname, first name, patronymic (if applicable) of the patient.

The period of illness or the presence of contraindications to air travel (if any, they must be explicitly stated in the document) must include the date of transportation.

The electronic incapacity for work certificate (ELN) must contain the stamp of the medical organization with its details and the seal of the medical institution.

Alterations and additions to medical documents are not allowed.

Foreign medical documents must be translated into Russian and certified (except for English).
