Boarding a train is carried out using railway tickets. The passenger must present a boarding coupon and an identity document indicating the surname and number under which the ticket was purchased. For children under 14 years of age on domestic Russian routes, a notarized birth certificate is permitted.

A passenger is considered to be without a ticket if they present an identity document whose details do not match the information on the electronic ticket: discrepancy in surname, first name, patronymic (if applicable), date of birth, citizenship, gender, or document number. In such a case, the passenger is not allowed to board.

In case of a discrepancy in the identity document data of no more than one letter in the surname and no more than one digit in the number, the passenger is allowed to board.

If the ticket was issued based on a birth certificate, but the child turned 14 years old at the time of boarding, they are allowed to travel upon presentation of the issued travel document and birth certificate (or its notarized copy) within 90 days from the date of reaching 14 years of age. In such a case, a passport is not required.

When boarding trains on domestic Russian routes and on routes Russia – Abkhazia and Russia – Belarus, a document whose data was specified when issuing the electronic ticket is required. Presentation of a boarding coupon is not required in such a case.

Boarding a train with electronic registration: 

  • on domestic routes and routes Russia – Abkhazia and Russia – Belarus (trains 717М/718Π‘, 721М/722Π‘), presentation of a boarding coupon is not required. Only an identity document whose data was specified when issuing the electronic ticket;

  • on domestic routes traveling within the Russian Federation, boarding is carried out upon presentation of the electronic ticket's boarding coupon in paper form or on a mobile device screen and an identity document. For children under 14 years of age, a notarized birth certificate is permitted;

  • on trains running between Russia and Latvia, Russia and the Republic of Belarus (with the exception of trains formed by JSC Β«FPCΒ»), Russia and Kazakhstan, Russia and Moldova, Russia and Estonia, Russia and Lithuania, Russia and Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan, boarding is carried out using the document on the basis of which the electronic ticket was issued. In such a case, you must have a booking form with travel information on paper. When departing from Vilnius, you must have the electronic ticket on paper;

  • on train β„– 306 Irkutsk – Ulaanbaatar, boarding is carried out upon presentation of the electronic ticket's boarding coupon on paper (A4 format) and the identity document specified in the electronic ticket.

If you have canceled the electronic registration service, having received a boarding coupon at the ticket office or self-service terminal, you must present it upon boarding.

Boarding a train with a boarding coupon on a travel document form:

  • on trains traveling within Russia, boarding is carried out upon presentation of a boarding coupon and the identity document for which the electronic ticket was issued. For children under 14 years of age on domestic Russian routes, a notarized birth certificate is permitted;

  • on trains running to CIS countries, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Abkhazia, boarding is carried out upon presentation of the boarding coupon on the ticket and the identity document on the basis of which the electronic ticket was issued; 

  • on trains running on international routes (far abroad), boarding is carried out upon presentation of the boarding coupon on the travel document form and the identity document for which the electronic ticket was issued.

Electronic tickets are not transferable to other persons and are valid only upon presentation of the passenger's identity documents. Resale is not permitted.
