Ticket Issuance Deadlines

Electronic tickets for long-distance trains can be issued:

  • no later than 15 minutes before departure from the passenger's boarding station

  • no later than 1 hour before train departure — for other trains

  • for high-speed trains «Sapsan» and «Lastochka» — no later than 15 minutes before departure from the boarding station

For which destinations are electronic tickets available

Online sales are available for long-distance trains traveling within the territory of the Russian Federation without crossing borders.

Filling in Personal Data

When issuing a ticket, the following must be specified:

  • surname, first name, patronymic (if applicable)

  • date of birth

  • gender

  • citizenship

  • identity document details

The person placing the order is solely responsible for the accuracy of the entered information.

Seat Selection

  • In compartment or SV carriages with male and female compartments, seating is only available in the compartment type ("Male", "Female") that matches the passenger's gender. When boarding an empty "Mixed" compartment, the first passenger can optionally set it as "Female" or "Male" type.

  • If there are mother and child seats available, they can be used by 1 adult with 1 child under 1 year old without a seat.

  • If there are seats available for passengers with children, adult passengers and children without a seat, as well as children under 10 with a seat, can be issued tickets for them. For seat availability, there should be no more than 2 adults per 1 child in the booking.

Fares and Issuance Features

Full Compartment Purchase

In some cases, payment for the entire compartment is required:

  • «Lux» and VIP category carriages

  • separate service classes on the «Sapsan» train (suite compartment, premium compartment, negotiation compartments)

The number of seats issued and the cost depend on the chosen service class. When booking, all passengers traveling in the purchased seats must be specified, as data cannot be changed after booking.

Special Fares

Applied with restrictions on carriers, trains, service types, and periods. If available, they will be displayed when selecting seats.

Special fare plans available:

  • «Birthday» and «Birthday. Accompanying Person»

  • Junior

  • Senior

  • Single (purchase of multiple seats by one passenger)

  • Entire Compartment (purchase of a compartment for multiple passengers)

  • Round trip

Conditions:

  • as a rule, apply to citizens of the Russian Federation*

  • changes are not allowed after booking

  • discount** applies only to the fare (excluding service fee)

* Children with Russian Federation citizenship, for whom a ticket was purchased using a Birth Certificate, must have a citizenship stamp in the Certificate upon boarding.

** The discount is calculated when proceeding to the payment method selection step; the full cost without discount is displayed on the seat map.

Non-refundable Fares

In compartment carriages, SV carriages, and carriages with seating, a ticket can be issued at a "non-refundable" fare. Seats for which a non-refundable ticket can be issued are marked separately on the carriage diagram.

Features:

  • the fare is not refunded for voluntary cancellation of the trip

  • only service fees and bedding are refunded (minus commission)

  • the ticket will be marked «TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE»

Full or partial refund is possible in cases of:

  • illness of the passenger or a close relative

  • injury

  • train cancellation or delay

  • failure to provide a seat

In some cases, it is necessary to contact the ticket office no later than 5 days from the train's departure. Reissuance of non-refundable tickets is only done at the ticket office and only for an equivalent fare.
