How to buy airline tickets on sale?
Airline ticket sales are an enticing phrase for travelers. Today we’ll talk about how to catch a sale and fly cheaply! It’s not difficult at all; the main thing is to follow these 3 rules:
Rule #1. Soberly assess reality
If you want to find a crazy sale on flights to a popular resort with departure during peak season, you’ll be waiting a long time for a promotion and likely won’t get one at all. We’ve already written that all promotions and sales are held during periods of low demand, in the off-season. If you want to fly cheaply to Barcelona in July, buy your tickets in advance. We also wrote about the benefits and advantages of early airline ticket booking.
Rule #2. Subscribe to social media groups of airlines and flight booking agencies.
Most airlines maintain active Facebook pages. By subscribing, you’ll stay informed about all company events and interesting flight promotions.
Don’t forget about Twitter. For example, Turkish Airlines not only announces discounts but also gives away free airline tickets:
The same applies to flight booking websites. For example, on our social media pages, we regularly publish information about airline promotions from various airlines and cheap tickets found on www.kupi.com. When subscribing to an airline’s page, be very careful. There are quite a few fake pages online. Recently, some prominent examples include accounts of several major American carriers: @americanairlines_giveaways, @united_giveaways, @jetbluegiveaways, and @delta_giveaways. These are all fake accounts that raffled off non-existent free airline tickets to the first five thousand subscribers:
Rule #3 Subscribe to email newsletters from airlines and flight booking services.
If an airline organizes a promotion, all information about it will immediately be in the newsletter.
To avoid cluttering your inbox, set up a filter in your email client so that these newsletters go into a separate folder. You can create one folder or divide it into subfolders by airline:
And a couple more tips…
Please note that promotional tickets are always very limited. If you are looking at tickets for specific dates and the price has not changed, it means that cheap tickets for that flight have run out. You will have to change your travel dates. Promotional tickets are snapped up VERY quickly. The bigger the discount, the faster more agile travelers will buy up the tickets. If you decide to fly on a promotion, always keep your passport and bank card details handy to proceed with booking immediately. Pay attention to another important detail – promotional airline tickets are always sold at the cheapest fare, and as we have written many times, the cheapest fares are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Therefore, if you buy such a ticket, you won’t be able to change your plans.
