How to get free flight information on your phone?
A service called “Aerostatus” provides you with flight status information on your mobile or email completely free of charge.
To receive notifications, send an SMS to the service number or an email to status@aerostatus.com.
To get current flight information, indicate the flight number in the message, including all letters and numbers (e.g., AB1123). Within a couple of seconds, you will receive a response with the current flight information.
To get information about the flight status and subscribe to subsequent notifications about its changes (delays, flight cancellation, changes in departure or arrival time, as well as notification of aircraft landing), send a message with the flight number, adding a question mark at the end (e.g., AB1234?). In response, you will receive a message with current flight information, and then you will automatically receive its updates until the flight is completed:
- if your flight is delayed, you will receive a message with the new aircraft departure time;
- as soon as the aircraft takes off, you will receive a message with its exact departure time and estimated arrival time;
- upon flight arrival, you will receive the last message indicating the landing time.
If you want to get information about a flight that will be operated in the future (up to 3 days from the request), you need to send a request indicating the flight number and departure date in DD.MM or DD/MM format (e.g., AB1234 22.07 or AB1234 22/07). You can also request this information with automatic updates by adding a question mark at the end of the flight number.
To cancel updates, send a message with the word STOP.
Aerostatus provides only the information that is current at the time of the request. If a flight consists of two or more segments, you will only receive information about the current segment.
