China to introduce trial visa-free entry for Russians for a year
Good news: China is introducing a visa-free regime for citizens of the Russian Federation! Starting from September 15, 2025, Russians will be able to visit the PRC for up to 30 days without the need for a visa. This was announced by the spokesperson for the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jiakun.

The enticing visa-free regime will initially operate on a trial basis, but it will be valid for a full year – until September 14, 2026, so Moscow – Shanghai tickets should be purchased now. Entry is permitted for business, tourism, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends, or as part of an exchange, making a visit to the Great Wall of China or extensive shopping in the Celestial Empire easier.
This step complements the existing agreement on visa-free group tourist trips, which was resumed in August 2023. However, the introduction of an individual visa-free regime opens up much broader opportunities for independent travelers and entrepreneurs, eliminating bureaucratic barriers and reducing travel organization costs.
Tourism industry experts predict a significant increase in demand for trips to China. It is expected that the innovation will not only stimulate traditional tourism but also contribute to the development of educational and cultural exchanges between the two partner states.
