Resorts in India: Five best resorts for a comfortable vacation and experiencing local flavor
Imagine this: you've already been to Turkey and Egypt, and now you want something new. But you haven't heard any interesting ideas or advice. Everywhere it's the same: either Thailand or Bali. You won't surprise your friends with that anymore… So, what to do in such a case?
The answer is simple: choose India. It will impress you much more than you expect. Here, there are not only large elephants and the majestic Taj Mahal, but also cool resorts. Moreover, the destination is not yet mainstream, so you'll be able to get a great break from tourists. In short, only advantages!

Goa
Probably the most famous among India's resorts. Goa is usually divided into North and South. The North has more youth and freedom of expression, while the South offers comfortable beaches and relative tranquility. The choice of location is yours. Fortunately, regardless of your decision, you'll have a good time relaxing on the beach in both. In short, you can't go wrong.
In general, on the shores of the Arabian Sea, you can do more than just relax on a sun lounger. For example, the city of Panaji (also called the capital of resort Goa) is popular among tourists. Firstly, it's vibrant: modern buildings stand next to small local houses and stand out with their colorful hues. And secondly, there are picturesque streets here that differ from India's architecture with their Portuguese vibes.
By the way, a vacation in Goa sparks a bit of excitement in some travelers. After all, it's here that you can visit a casino right on a floating yacht. Fortunately (or unfortunately), getting there isn't as easy as it seems. But it's easy to visit the market in Anjuna and buy a couple of souvenirs. Or visit spice plantations, which visually strongly resemble Vietnamese ones.
How to get there
The most proven way to get to Goa is to take tickets to Delhi and reach your destination by train. It will take a little longer, but it will be cheaper. If you don't want to save money and want to be on the beach right away, take tickets Moscow — Goa. They will involve a layover.

Kerala
Kerala has forever settled in the hearts of tourists for its unusual approach to lifestyle. Locals here preach Ayurveda — a teaching that implies a balance of soul and body. Therefore, there is always a place in the state to practice yoga or meditation.
Besides the less obvious leisure option, you can relax in a classic way. For example, visit the beaches of Alappuzha, which are always lively due to their convenient location, or Varkala, which is more remote but has developed infrastructure.
By the way, don't forget about the typical tourist vacation option — visiting all the famous attractions. Fortunately, in Kerala's capital, Thiruvananthapuram, there are several interesting locations that are definitely worth visiting. For example, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple. It was built in the 16th century, and in 2011, it entered the Guinness Book of Records as the richest in the world. Secretly, money and other valuables are brought here by pilgrims as offerings to the god Vishnu. Another good option is to go to the zoo to see tigers and exotic plants. Or take a stroll through Fort Kochi to see unusual fishing nets.
How to get there
You can fly directly to Kerala's capital, Thiruvananthapuram. And from there, choose where exactly you most want to vacation in India.

Lakshadweep
Rest assured, if you post a photo from the Lakshadweep Islands, no one will even realize you were in India and not the Maldives. To be honest, sooner or later you might even doubt where you are yourself. All thanks to the clear turquoise water, long coastline, and palm trees.
Among the attractions — only the beach and the Arabian Sea. So feel free to choose your swimsuit and get ready to spend several hours amidst the warm waves. By the way, a warning: picking coconuts from palm trees and collecting corals is prohibited here — after all, it's private property and an important nuance of vacationing in India. We mentioned it in case anyone gets the urge to try a cocktail straight from the famous nut…
Among local entertainments are diving or yacht trips. The latter can be rented in places like Kavaratti or Kadmat. And the opportunity to get acquainted with underwater inhabitants is available near the islands of Kalpeni or Bangaram.
How to get there
It turns out that visiting paradise on Earth is possible, though a little tricky. First, you need to obtain a special permit in Delhi or Kochi. The islands of Bangaram, Kadmat, and Agatti are open for accommodation. You can only stay in the capital, on Kavaratti Island, for 12 hours. Therefore, you'll first have to visit one of India's major cities.
Fortunately, flights to Delhi are not as expensive as they might seem at first glance. On particularly lucky days, you can grab them for as little as 20,000 rubles! And then it's a small matter. Four ships sail to Lakshadweep directly from Kochi: MV Tippu Sultan, MV Bharat Seema, MV Amindivi, and MV Minicoy.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Another unique place to visit in India. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands (yes, that's one name) are located on the other side — in the Bay of Bengal. They represent a whole string of small islets with picturesque beaches and green jungles. Interesting fact: there are about 570 such land areas in total, of which only 20 are accessible for visits, and only 10 are popular with tourists.
By the way, this is a popular spot for diving. Near the sandy beaches, there's a chance to spot tiger sharks, stingrays, butterflyfish, and even an endangered species of mammal — dugongs (or simply "sea cows").
How to get there
To be alone with the nature of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a permit will be required. Like with Lakshadweep, you'll have to obtain it in Delhi or Kochi. This time, it's best to travel from India's capital, and from there by boat.

Chennai
Finally, we suggest getting acquainted with Chennai, a city on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. People mostly come here for the sights. One of them is the local Marina Beach (not to be confused with Dubai's). Here you can see the real India, where local fishermen practice their craft, and families with children have picnics. We don't recommend swimming there, but we strongly advise walking along the coastline: it's not only beautiful, but the sea breeze is also pleasant.
The main attraction is considered to be the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located almost in the very center of the city, and its spire is visible from afar. Festivals and celebrations are regularly held here, and tourists flock to take at least a couple of photos. More active leisure activities include kneeboarding, wakeboarding, and parasailing.
How to get there
Fortunately, there are direct flights to Chennai . So, you won't have to worry about transfers to boats, as was the case with the islands.

The country is rich in diverse recreation and beautiful landscapes. However, deciding where to vacation in India is, of course, up to you. So, we wish you a pleasant trip and a sea of new emotions!
