Winter, on the other hand, from June to August, offers mild and cool weather with daytime temperatures around 15–17°C. Spring and autumn are comfortable transitional periods. One of the key features of the climate is the substantial difference between day and night temperatures. Even after a very hot day, the night brings pleasant coolness, as the temperature can drop by 12-15 degrees, ensuring a comfortable rest.

Daytime temperatures during this period usually stay within a comfortable 15-17°C, which is ideal for walking and exploring the surroundings. Precipitation

Mildura is characterised by a very dry climate with extremely low rainfall throughout the year. There is no clearly defined rainy or dry season, as the amount of moisture remains minimal in practically every month. Travellers should expect predominantly sunny and dry weather, regardless of the time of their visit.

The driest months of the year are February, March and July, when, according to statistics, there is practically no precipitation. In other months, the average amount does not exceed 1 mm. Despite the general dryness, periods with the highest number of days with precipitation can be highlighted. Brief rains are most likely in August and November, when up to 6 "wet" days are counted. However, even at this time, the total amount of moisture remains insignificant, indicating the very light and brief nature of the rains.

Snow is uncharacteristic for Mildura's climate. When planning a trip, you need not worry about heavy downpours or prolonged rains that could disrupt your plans. The probability of encountering precipitation is low, and most likely, it will be just a light drizzle, incapable of dampening your holiday.

What to Pack

When planning a trip to Mildura, it is worth noting that the city features a hot and dry climate with a large number of sunny days per year. Regardless of the season, your suitcase must contain three things: high SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. In summer, from December to February, heat prevails, so opt for light and breathable clothing made of cotton or linen—shorts, t-shirts, dresses, and sandals will be your main wardrobe. Despite the daytime heat, evenings can be slightly cooler, so a light sweater or cardigan would not go amiss.

In the off-season, spring (September-November) and autumn (March-May), the weather is most variable, and the layering principle works best here. It can be warm during the day, but by evening the temperature drops noticeably. A combination of t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and a light jacket or fleece sweater will allow you to feel comfortable at any time of day. Winter, from June to August, is mild and cool in Mildura, but without severe frosts. At this time, you will need jeans or trousers, sweaters, and a mid-season jacket. Since precipitation is minimal throughout the year, a bulky raincoat is not needed, but a light windbreaker might come in handy. And, of course, do not forget comfortable shoes for walking around the city and its picturesque surroundings.
