Manas International Airport (FRU) is the main air gateway of Kyrgyzstan and one of the most modern aviation hubs in Central Asia. Located 23 km northwest of the capital, it bears the name of the hero of the national epic, named so upon the initiative of the writer Chingiz Aitmatov. The airport occupies a strategic position at the crossroads of air routes between Europe and Asia, serving as an important transit and tourism centre. It is capable of receiving all types of aircraft and constantly improves its infrastructure for passenger comfort.
