Precipitation

When planning your trip to Rasskazovo, it is worth noting that the total amount of precipitation here is low throughout the year, averaging 1-2 mm per month. Instead of a distinct rainy season with heavy downpours, there are periods with varying frequencies of light precipitation. Thus, the weather is often pleasantly predictable in terms of intensity, but the number of wet days varies by season.

The winter months, especially December (14 wet days) and January (13 wet days), are characterized by the highest frequency of precipitation. Given the negative average temperatures during this period (from -4.2°C in December to -7.1°C in January), precipitation falls mainly as snow. November also stands out for its high frequency of precipitation (11 wet days), marking the transition to winter weather as rain gives way to snow. March, despite having only 1 mm of precipitation and 9 wet days, can still bring snow, especially at the beginning of the month, gradually giving way to spring rains.

During the warmer months, from April to October, precipitation falls as rain. The amount remains small, usually around 2 mm per month, except for March and August, where only 1 mm is recorded. The "driest" month in terms of frequency of precipitation is August, when there are only 5 wet days on average. During the other summer and autumn months, such as June, July, or September, you can expect between 7 and 10 days of light rain. Overall, Rasskazovo is characterized by light, short-lived precipitation rather than heavy and prolonged downpours.

Packing Tips

When planning a trip to Rasskazovo, it is important to choose the right wardrobe to stay comfortable in any weather. The key principle is layering, as temperatures can change throughout the day, especially during transitional seasons. And, of course, don’t forget comfortable shoes for exploring the city and its surroundings, as they will be useful at any time of year.

In winter (December to February), you can expect a real Russian winter in Rasskazovo with sub-zero temperatures and snow. Be sure to pack a warm winter jacket or down coat, a hat, scarf, gloves, and waterproof warm boots. Thermal underwear will also come in handy. In summer (June to August), the weather is usually warm and pleasant. You will need light clothing made of natural fabrics, a sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. However, as evenings can be cool, bring a light jacket, cardigan, or sweater.

In spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), the weather in Rasskazovo can be changeable. During these periods, layering is especially relevant: a t-shirt, a sweater or fleece on top, and a mid-season jacket or windbreaker as the outer layer. Given that some months (especially November, December, January, as well as April and October) see an increase in the number of days with precipitation, a small folding umbrella or a light waterproof jacket may be very useful. Even if precipitation is usually not heavy, it’s best to be prepared for a bit of rain or snow.
