Despite the rain, temperatures remain high, creating a steamy atmosphere. Showers are often heavy but short, and usually occur in the afternoon or evening.

The temperature regime in Bangkok is characterized by consistently high readings year-round, which is typical for a tropical climate. The average annual temperature fluctuates slightly, but hotter and relatively cooler periods can be distinguished. The hottest month is usually April, when the average temperature reaches 30.9°C, and daytime highs can rise to 35.0°C. The "coolest" month, if one can say so for the tropics, is considered December with an average temperature of 26.4°C, while nighttime lows can drop to a pleasant 21.8°C.

The summer period, especially the months from March to May, brings real tropical heat to Bangkok. During this time, average daytime temperatures consistently stay above 34°C (March – 34.1°C, April – 35.0°C, May – 34.3°C), and nights remain very warm, with temperatures rarely dropping below 25-27°C. The so-called "winter" months, such as December and January, offer more comfortable conditions. Although it is still warm during the day (average highs around 31-31.5°C), nights bring noticeable freshness with average lows around 21.8-21.9°C. In these drier months (December-February), more noticeable diurnal temperature fluctuations reaching 9-9.6°C are observed, while at the height of the rainy season (for example, from July to September), the difference between day and night temperatures shrinks to 6-7°C due to high humidity.

Even in the "coolest" months, the temperature in Bangkok rarely drops to values that could be called cold by temperate climate standards. The climate remains warm and conducive to light clothing all year round. The daytime heat, especially from April to May, can feel quite intense, particularly when combined with high humidity, whereas evenings and nights in the period from December to February bring pleasant relief and are considered the most comfortable time for walking around the city.

Precipitation in Bangkok clearly follows the monsoon climate of Thailand, dividing the year into two main periods: a distinct dry season and a prolonged rainy season. Be sure to bring sunscreen with a high protection factor, sunglasses, and a head covering (hat or cap), as the sun in Thailand is very active. Since you will likely be walking a lot exploring the numerous attractions of Bangkok, comfortable walking shoes, such as sandals or light sneakers, are absolutely essential. A light cardigan or stole may also come in handy to protect against the cold in heavily air-conditioned spaces (shopping centres, the metro) or during evening walks in the relatively "cool" months.
