The Timorese Resistance Archive and Museum is a vital cultural and historical center located in the heart of Dili. The museum occupies a majestic restored building that formerly housed the Portuguese court. Today, this site serves as the primary guardian of national memory and a symbol of the people of East Timor and their path to independence.

Inside the museum, visitors will find a modern and deeply thought-out exhibition titled "To Resist is to Win". Spanning over 1,300 square meters, the displays tell the story of the country's difficult journey toward sovereignty. Information is presented in three languages — Tetum, Portuguese, and English — making the visit comfortable for international tourists.
A particular point of pride for the institution is its extensive archive, which includes rare text, photo, and audio materials. Many of these are considered so unique that they were nominated for inclusion in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. It is not just a traditional museum, but a modern interactive space that unites history, science, and culture.
