Crawling through a narrow passage, Lambert and his assistant made the discovery of a lifetime, finding a previously unknown cave with a stunning waterfall.

Being not only a passionate caver but also a loving husband, Leo Lambert dedicated this incredible discovery to his wife and named the waterfall after her—Ruby. As early as 1929, this new attraction was opened to the public, quickly gaining popularity. Since then, Ruby Falls has become one of the most visited tourist sites not only around Chattanooga but throughout the USA, attracting travelers from all over the world with its romantic name and breathtaking underground beauty.
