Overview

The climate in Palestine is warm and temperate, making it an attractive destination to visit almost any time of year. You won't find the extreme cold typical of northern states here, and the weather generally encourages walking and outdoor recreation. Summers are truly hot, while winters are mild and short.

During the summer months, especially July and August, the air warms up significantly: average temperatures reach 30°C, and peak hours often exceed 35°C. Winters are very comfortable, with averages around 10–12°C, so you'll likely have no need for heavy winter clothing. Spring and autumn serve as pleasant transitional periods, with temperatures staying in a comfortable range of 15°C to 25°C.

An interesting feature of the local climate is the fairly even distribution of overcast days throughout the year. May is often the "wettest" month (with up to 14 days of precipitation), while autumn—particularly October and November—brings more stability and drier weather. When planning a trip to the USA in this region, keep in mind that rain here is usually brief, quickly giving way to sunshine.

Temperature

The climate in Palestine (USA) is characterized by distinct seasonality, offering travelers a wide range of weather conditions—from mild winters to truly hot summers. The annual temperature chart shows a steady rise in figures from the start of the year, peaking in late summer. January is traditionally the coldest month, with night temperatures dropping to 5°C, while August is the hottest, with an average daily maximum exceeding 35°C.

The summer season will appeal to those who love warmth and sunshine. July and August bring intense heat: average temperatures stay around 30°C, and daytime air often warms up to 35°C and above. Notably, even the nights during this period remain very warm, with temperatures around 25°C, preventing the ground from cooling down significantly. This temperature regime persists almost until the end of September, making for a quite long summer.

Winters in Palestine are very mild and comfortable, without severe frosts. In December and February, daytime temperatures often reach a pleasant 16–17°C, which is ideal for outdoor sightseeing. However, be mindful of daily fluctuations: the difference between the daytime high and the nighttime low averages about 10 degrees throughout the year. Therefore, even if the sun is shining brightly during the day, it's recommended to have a light jacket or sweater for evening strolls.

Precipitation

Precipitation in Palestine is distributed somewhat unevenly throughout the year, although rainy days occur in every season. Since temperatures rarely drop below freezing even in the winter months, precipitation here falls primarily as rain. Snow is a rare and uncharacteristic phenomenon for this region.

The end of spring is considered the wettest period. May is the clear leader in terms of precipitation, recording the highest average rainfall (6 mm) and the most rainy days—around 14. Spring months starting from February generally see high rain frequency, so travelers planning a trip during this time should pack waterproof gear.

The summer months and early autumn bring a decrease in precipitation volume to minimum levels (about 2 mm in July, August, and September). However, there is an interesting quirk: despite the low volume of water, it can rain quite frequently in July—up to 12 days a month. The "driest" months in terms of weather frequency are October and November, when the number of rainy days drops to an average of eight.

Packing Tips

When preparing for your trip to Palestine, keep in mind that summers here can be truly hot. From June to August, the mercury regularly rises above 30°C, sometimes hitting 35°C. To stay comfortable during this season, you'll need light clothing made from natural, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen. Be sure to pack a hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen to protect yourself from the intense sun during daytime walks.

Winters and the shoulder seasons are quite mild but require a more thoughtful approach to your wardrobe. The average temperature in winter stays around 10–12°C, so heavy down jackets are unlikely to be needed; instead, the principle of layering will come in handy. Bring long-sleeved shirts, cozy sweaters, and a light transitional jacket or windbreaker that’s easy to remove if it warms up during the day. While spring and autumn weather is pleasant, evenings can still be cool.

Pay special attention to precipitation: statistics show that rainy days (from 8 to 14 per month) occur regularly throughout the year. Therefore, a compact umbrella or a light raincoat is a must-have in your luggage, regardless of the season. For long city walks, choose comfortable, broken-in shoes—ideally with water-resistant properties—so a sudden shower doesn't dampen your mood.
