— What to do?

If, after booking tickets, you find an error in the spelling of the passenger's last name, first name, or patronymic, you must immediately send a request to our Customer Care Service from your personal account on the website or in the app. In some cases, we will be able to cancel your order with minimal losses. 

If the order cannot be canceled, we will offer you options for further action depending on technical capabilities and airline rules.

A Kupibilet service fee of 1700 rubles is charged for reissuing a ticket due to data correction. Or 2500 rubles if the purchase was made from a third-party service, for example – Yandex.Travel, Aviasales, and others. Additionally, an airline penalty may be charged if provided for by the fare rules.

— Is it possible not to correct the error?

If the error is minor and does not change the sound of the name, some airlines may allow a remark to be added to the booking without reissuing the ticket.

For more serious errors, especially in tickets for international flights, reissuing or canceling the ticket with a subsequent purchase of a new one is recommended.

The unwritten rule of «three errors that allow you on the flight» is not officially supported by anything, and you should not rely on it. We recommend that you protect yourself and rebook your ticket to avoid any difficulties at the airport. 

Additionally, you can call your airline before making a correction request: it is possible that they will allow you to fly with a ticket containing an error, and this will save you from unnecessary expenses.

— Is it possible to change the last name or first name on the ticket if they are completely different?

Such a correction is not possible with most airlines. You will definitely not be allowed on a flight with a ticket under someone else's last name or first name, so there is only one way out — a ticket refund, if permitted by the fare rules.

Exceptions

✔ Change of last name due to marriage or divorce that occurred after the ticket purchase. Many airlines in such cases allow the change, subject to payment of an airline penalty; a Kupibilet service fee will also be charged.
