The carry-on baggage allowance, like the checked baggage allowance, depends on the selected flight fare and the conditions of the operating airline.

  • In the itinerary receipt, which was sent to your email after purchasing the ticket.

  • In the fare rules, which are available in your order details in your personal account.

  • On the airline's website: refer to the fare name in your itinerary receipt.

How to understand the specified dimensions?

The permissible carry-on baggage size is indicated in centimeters: either exact parameters for three dimensions (e.g., 55x40x20 cm), or a single number as the maximum sum of three sides (e.g., 115 cm). In addition to dimensions, most airlines limit the weight of the suitcase.

Carry-on Baggage Requirements of Some International Airlines

Turkish Airlines

In Economy Class, passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 8 kg and measuring no more than 23 ร— 40 ร— 55 cm.

In Business Class, passengers may bring two pieces of carry-on baggage, each weighing up to 8 kg and measuring no more than 23 ร— 40 ร— 55 cm. In addition, one personal item weighing up to 4 kg and measuring up to 40 ร— 30 ร— 15 cm is permitted.

Pegasus Airlines

Passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 8 kg and measuring up to 55 ร— 40 ร— 20 cm.

Emirates

In Economy Class, passengers may bring one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kg. In Premium Economy, the allowance is one piece weighing up to 10 kg. In both cases, the maximum dimensions are 55 ร— 38 ร— 22 cm.

In Business Class and First Class, passengers are permitted two carry-on items weighing up to 7 kg each: one carry-on bag with dimensions up to 55 ร— 38 ร— 22 cm and one briefcase or handbag with dimensions up to 45 ร— 35 ร— 20 cm.

Uzbekistan Airways

In Economy Class, passengers are allowed one carry-on item weighing up to 8 kg, with the total dimensions not exceeding 115 cm.

In Business Class, one carry-on item weighing up to 10 kg is permitted.

For flights to/from Ankara, the Economy Class carry-on allowance is limited to 5 kg.

Air China

In Economy Class, passengers may bring one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 5 kg.

In Business Class and First Class, passengers may bring two carry-on bags, each weighing up to 8 kg.

For all fare classes, the maximum dimensions are 55 ร— 40 ร— 20 cm. 

What else can be taken in addition to the carry-on allowance?

You may also carry the following items free of charge in addition to your carry-on baggage allowance:

  • a backpack, the weight and dimensions of which are established by the carrier's rules, or a lady's handbag, or a briefcase โ€” one item with its contents;

  • a bouquet of flowers;

  • outerwear;

  • baby food for the child during the flight;

  • a suit in a garment bag;

  • when transporting a child โ€” a child restraint device (baby bassinet, restraint systems for children under two years old, folding stroller, etc.) with dimensions established by the carrier's rules and allowing this device to be safely placed on the overhead bin or under the seat in front;

  • medications, special dietary products in the quantity necessary for the duration of the flight;

  • crutches, canes, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchairs used by the passenger, with dimensions allowing them to be safely placed on the overhead bin or under the seat in front;

  • goods purchased at duty-free shops at the airport, in a sealed plastic bag, the weight and dimensions of which are established by the carrier's rules.
