Online check-in is a service that replaces standard airport check-in and allows you to significantly save time and effort. It is available for most flights of almost all airlines.

Important nuance — new rules come into force in Russia on March 1, 2026, obliging airlines to provide adjacent seats free of charge to children under 12 and their accompanying adults. Seats must be in the same row, not separated by an aisle, if they are booked under one reservation. When checking in for a flight, airlines are obliged to ensure joint seating.

! If you are traveling with checked baggage, you must drop it off at the same counter while check-in for your flight is open, or use a special baggage drop-off counter (“drop-off” or “bag drop”). Check-in and baggage drop-off close 40-60 minutes before departure.

Instructions for self-service online check-in

1. 24 hours before departure, go to the website of the airline operating your flight. Find the online check-in service.

2. Enter the "airline booking number" from your itinerary receipt, as well as other requested parameters. Often, you will need to enter the passenger's last name in Latin letters, without first or middle names.

3. When your booking opens, you may be required to enter additional parameters: for example, visa data (for international flights) or confirmation that you are familiar with the list of dangerous items prohibited in hand luggage. Carefully review all information and do not rush to close pop-up windows.

4. Select a seat in the cabin according to the layout that will open next. For some airlines, seat selection is only available for an additional fee; other airlines assign a seat automatically but allow you to change it. 

5. Save your selection. If the chosen seat requires payment, follow the check-in system's prompts to complete the payment.

6. After saving (and paying, if required) your chosen seat, you will be prompted to download your boarding pass. If possible, print it before going to the airport. No special paper is needed — just a regular A4 sheet and a printer, color or black-and-white.

7. If you were unable to print your boarding pass in advance, you must obtain it at the airport. To do this, go to your flight's check-in counter no later than 40 minutes before departure (before check-in closes). You can also use a self-service check-in kiosk with your airline's logo (but not all airlines have them).

Additionally, you can save it electronically on your phone or print it at a self-service kiosk at the airport, but sometimes this is subject to a fee, so we recommend doing it in advance.

Important nuance. An electronic boarding pass is a convenient alternative, but it is not accepted at all airports worldwide. International flights: at some airports (e.g., Antalya, Gyumri, Osh, Tashkent), the boarding pass must be printed without exception.
