Best and Worst Airports in the World
Annually, the popular international website www.sleepinginairports.net compiles a ranking of the best and worst airports in the world. In 2011, the top 10 best airports included: 1. Singapore, Singapore Changi Airport Among the distinctive features of the airport are a large number of gardens (bamboo, orchid, and butterfly gardens, etc.), live music concerts, and a swimming pool with a jacuzzi. Have you ever seen an airport with a pool? Or with a jacuzzi?
Second place went to Hong Kong International Airport, most likely due to the presence of a golf course :) Seoul Airport in South Korea (Incheon International Airport), which took third place, attracts visitors with Asia's largest 4D cinema.
Fourth place was awarded to Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur International Airport), and fifth to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The latter, by the way, offers a wedding organization service. Those interested are offered 4 different options for holding the ceremony and banquet on the airport premises.
Munich Airport took sixth place. Its motto "More than an Airport" is not in vain; it truly has everything necessary not only for waiting for your flight but also for entertainment. A distinctive feature of Munich Airport is its observation deck. The places were then distributed as follows: 7. Vancouver, Vancouver International Airport 8. Zurich, Zurich Airport 9. Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt International Airport 10. Toronto, Toronto Pearson International Airport
And here are the ten worst airports in the world...
1. Philippines, Manila International Airport This airport made it into the ranking due to a large number of pickpockets, so if you happen to go to the Philippines, watch your belongings. The other airports made the list due to their service and passenger convenience, as well as the fact that most of them close at night, forcing travelers to spend the night outside while waiting for early flights. 2. Paris Beauvais Airport 3. Iceland, Reykjavik, Keflavík International Airport 4. Italy, Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport 5. Kyiv, Boryspil International Airport 6. Frankfurt, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport 7. London, Luton Airport 8. Italy, Pisa, Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport 9. Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport (Terminals 3 and 2A,B,C,D) For the two previous years, Charles de Gaulle Airport topped the ranking of the world's worst airports. Terminal 2E, which received mostly good reviews for its operation, improved the situation. Most passenger complaints were related to the large number of homeless people. And rounding out the top ten is Los Angeles International Airport. It ended up here due to minimal amenities for transit passengers, strict security, and high congestion. By the way, in 2009, Sheremetyevo ranked second among the worst airports; as we can see, they have changed for the better.
