Not the best time: when it's 'off-season' at the sea
Want to go to the sea already, right? Stretch out on the beach, let the sun embrace your body,
then go for a swim in the warm water, and lounge again. Sweet time!
The internet only adds fuel to the fire: photos of acquaintances and friends enjoying their vacation pop up everywhere. But wait. There are destinations where it's better not to go to the sea. We'll tell you why and where in this article.
Not all seas are good
The first thing that comes to mind is crowded beaches during peak season. If
you're flying to Bali or distant islands, this probably won't be an issue. Who else would venture
into such a remote place? But if Sochi and Egypt are the limits of your dreams, be prepared that
there will be no space to put your sunscreen bottle.
Second is the weather. There are places where it's +30 even in winter months, and
even worse in summer. Wilting under a forty-degree sun, and then swimming in a hot sea – that's
not the kind of vacation you enjoy.
The most treacherous time is July-August. During this period, warm countries
experience hellish heat that is very difficult to endure. In the heat, there's no desire to go
anywhere, see the city, or even move at all. Such stuffiness is harmful to the body; heatstroke
awaits almost around every corner. Why would you want such a vacation? Let's choose our vacation
time wisely ;)
Emirates
Russian tourists fly there all year round, but winter is the best time to visit the country, and
summer is the worst. In summer, temperatures rise above 40 degrees; yes, perhaps it's tolerated
differently, but heat is heat, and no one has ever felt good from it. The sea generally resembles
a vat of boiling water (figuratively). So, you won't escape the scorching sun in hot water. Dubai
has a shopping mall with a small artificial ski resort. You can survive there, but not on the
beach.
If you really want to see the Emirates, postpone your vacation until the period from November to
March. Just when dull off-season and winter prevail in Russia, it's warm and comfortable in the
Emirates.
Spain
Late July and early August in Spain are times for domestic tourism. The streets of the capital and
other major cities are literally impassable, prices skyrocket with the start of the season, there
are queues everywhere, crowds, nowhere to sit.
It's much more pleasant to walk along less crowded streets. Therefore, if you plan to spend your
vacation in Spain, choose June, late August, or the autumn months. This way, the beaches will be
less crowded, and swimming will still be possible.
India
There's a lot to see in India, and indeed. But you won't see much during the rainy season, right?
July-August in India is precisely the rainy season, even downpours. As you understand: roads are
heavily washed out, rivers can overflow their banks, and some cities are completely flooded.
Unless you're a fan of decaying holidays, you can risk conquering the country during the rainy
season. But it's worth understanding that the weather differs in the north and south. If there's
no other option and you need to go to India in July-August, head north to the Himalayas. The
weather there is excellent, while the south is best visited from November to April.
Egypt
Practically all summer in Egypt is an endurance test. Temperatures soar to almost 40 degrees; only
camels feel good. In mid-summer, it's better not to venture into the desert; for a more or less
comfortable vacation, choose the Mediterranean region of the country. Resorts will be most
comfortable in spring or autumn.
Philippines
The universe created hot countries for people to vacation in when their own country is gripped by
severe frosts. Just look at the mass migration of freelancers as soon as the first snow falls.
But in summer, these paradise places aren't so great. In the Philippines, from June to November,
rains dominate, and such heavy ones that there will be nothing to remember from such a vacation.
In July and August, typhoons are added to the rains, which means there can be problems with
flights. From December to April, it's very good there – the best choice for a winter vacation.
Seychelles
Also not the most pleasant resort in the summer months. The thing is, strong winds blow on the
islands, bringing a lot of seaweed to the shore. And the sea becomes restless; even ferry
excursions can be canceled.
If you really want to go to the Seychelles in summer, choose the northern islands, it's calmer
there, but otherwise, the best time is late spring and early autumn.
Turkey
We are used to Turkey being accessible all year round. And do you remember Ramadan? This year it
lasts from May 5 to June 3. This means that during the fast, many establishments and even
transport operate for reduced hours. But after Ramadan, all Muslims go on vacation, and the
capital is the main party spot. Prices immediately go up, and there are an unimaginable number of
people.
If you want to go pet a bunch of street cats and gobble down sweets, then go in autumn or early
spring.
Cuba
From late August to October, the Caribbean experiences hurricane season, affecting even Mexican
resorts. A light breeze turns into a storm in a matter of minutes, carrying away everything that
isn't firmly secured. If they don't scare you and you still intend to go, at least get insurance
for flight delays or cancellations. Any other time from November to March – welcome!
