Ski Resorts in Moscow and Moscow Region
To conquer snowy peaks, carve on skis down steep slopes or perform tricks on a snowboard, you don't have to travel far — everything is available in Moscow and Moscow Region. In this article, we will tell you about the main ski resorts in Moscow and the region, and share all the necessary information for active holiday enthusiasts.
Sports Base "Uzkoye"
How to get there
"Uzkoye" is located just three kilometers from Yasenevo metro station. You can get there by buses № 642 and № 648 to the "Sports Base "Uzkoye"" stop or walk for 35 minutes. For those who prefer to travel by car, there is free parking.
About the slopes
There are three slopes in "Uzkoye". The first is for beginners: with a gentle incline, where you can practice calmly and later move on to more challenging slopes. The second is "Lesnaya" (Forest): narrow, running next to the forest and suitable for experienced athletes. The third is "Sevastopolsky Slope": a wide slope with an equally wide run-out.
Overall, if you are an experienced skier or snowboarder, all these slopes might seem boring to you. "Uzkoye" is a good base specifically for beginners who are just taking their first steps in the sport. By the way, students of the "Moscow Ski Academy" train on the slopes of this base — you might even meet future Olympic champions there.
What to do besides skiing/riding
Besides skis and snowboarding, you can also go tubing here. In general, there aren't many entertainment options here, not even a cafe — so we recommend bringing your own food and hot drinks, otherwise, just breathing the mountain air won't get you far.
Sports Park "Sorochany"
How to get there
You can get to "Sorochany" in three ways:
- By bus. Take regular bus № 402 from Altufyevo metro station and go to "Ulitsa Lenina" stop in Yakhroma, then transfer to bus № 42 and get off at "Sorochany" stop.
- By train. Take a train from Savyolovsky railway station to Yakhroma, then bus № 42 to "Sorochany" stop.
- By car. Drive along Dmitrovskoye Highway and at the 37th kilometer from the Moscow Ring Road, turn right near the village of Iksha. After the bridge before the village of Podosinki — turn left, near the village of Ilyinskoye — turn right. Then leave your car in the parking lot and enter the park through the underpass.
About the slopes
"Sorochany" is one of the largest ski centers in the Moscow Region. There are many slopes here for
a variety of snowboarders and skiers — from beginners to freeriders.
There is a
training slope for beginners, where you can master all the basics. There are also three slopes
with small offshoots for those who are already more or less confident on skis or a snowboard. For
experts with extensive experience, there are really steep slopes.
What to do besides skiing/riding
In "Sorochany", there is an outdoor ice rink, tubing, a tennis court, and even a table tennis
area.
There are also places to have a hearty lunch or dinner: for example, visit cafes
"Virazh", "Panorama", or "Izbushka".
Leonid Tyagachev Ski Club
How to get there
You can take a train from Savyolovsky railway station to "Turist" station, and then call a taxi.
Of course, the easiest way to get to this club is by car: drive along Dmitrovskoye Highway and at
the 39th kilometer turn left towards Shukolovo village — and then there will be convenient
navigation.
About the slopes
The slopes here are for true Olympians. Athletes have been training here since the 1960s. The
longest slope is 600 meters, and a chairlift takes you to its highest point.
But
beginners are also taken care of here: there are training slopes with a T-bar lift and even one
for children with a support-free baby lift.
What to do besides skiing/riding
If you're tired of skiing, you can go tubing or jump from trampolines in the snowpark. And grab a
bite at the cafes near the slopes — there are many of them.
It's also great to stay
here and spend cozy evenings. Local hotels offer saunas, spas, bowling, billiards, tennis, and
even karaoke.
Sports Park "Volen"
How to get there
Follow Dmitrovskoye Highway by car and at the 45th kilometer turn towards Stepanovo village —
there you will see signs for "Volen" and "Stepanovo" parks.
If you don't have a car,
take a train from Savyolovsky railway station to "Yakhroma" station, and then take a taxi or bus №
9 to "Bolshevistskaya Ulitsa" stop — from there you can walk to the park in 10 minutes.
About the slopes
In "Volen" there are fourteen slopes for athletes of different levels: both for experienced riders
and for those who just started skiing skis or snowboarding today. Listing the features of each is
long and unnecessary: in this park, you can find absolutely everything.
Experienced
instructors work here who can improve your technique.
What to do besides skiing/riding
Besides skiing, there are no special entertainments here, but you always have the opportunity to book a hotel room and enjoy saunas, spas, and other delights of a winter holiday. Also, in the park, you can buy fast food at the "Volen" truck or have a hearty meal at the "Montblanc", "Bugel-Vugel" restaurants, or at "Volen" itself.
By the way, even if you don't live in Moscow, organizing your ski trip is easy, especially with our service. Here are a couple of cheap tickets to Moscow.
Stepanovo Park
How to get there
You can get to "Stepanovo" in three ways:
- By bus. Take bus № 401 from Altufyevo metro station, go to "Ulitsa Lenina" stop, and then take a taxi to the ski resort.
- By train. Take a train from Savyolovsky railway station to "Yakhroma" station, and then take a taxi to "Stepanovo".
By car. Drive along Dmitrovskoye Highway and at the 45th kilometer turn towards Stepanovo village.
About the slopes
"Stepanovo" is the younger brother of "Volen", which is located very close, just five kilometers away. There are fewer slopes and simpler infrastructure here. But there's a big plus — far fewer people. And if you're an experienced athlete, you'll be pleased with the steep, long descents with significant drops. It's also a very good place to go snowboarding in Moscow.
On the main slope of "Stepanovo", there are only two runs: one is 900 meters, the other is 850 meters. On the central slope, there is a 700-meter long run with steep drops, suitable only for experienced skiers and snowboarders. On the Strekovsky slope, there are shorter and "softer" runs — these are suitable for beginners.
What to do besides skiing/riding
There are no particularly interesting entertainments in "Stepanovo", so for ice skating, spas, and
saunas, it's easiest to go to the neighboring "Volen".
By the way, this resort won't
leave you hungry: there are food trucks, the "Karamel" canteen, and a cafe with mulled wine.
Yakhroma Park
How to get there
You can get to "Yakhroma" in two ways:
- By train. Take a train from Savyolovsky railway station and go to "Turist" stop in Dedenovo village, then transfer to a minibus to Yakhroma.
- By car. Drive along Dmitrovskoye Highway and after Dedenovo and the blue railway bridge, you will see a stele with the park's name at a left turn. After this turn, there will be a fork — you need to turn left again, otherwise you will end up in another park — "Volen".
About the slopes
In "Yakhroma", four slopes with different runs await you — from hardcore to easy. There are also
two tubing runs and one — for those who want to practice slalom. The length of the runs varies
from 250 to 650 meters, and the elevation drop — from 40 to 65 meters.
There is a ski
school here, where they are ready to take you under their wing and teach you the most important
things.
What to do besides skiing/riding
"Yakhroma" is not only a place where you can go downhill skiing in Moscow, but also the winner of
this list in terms of alternative entertainment. Here, for example, there is an open-air ice rink
where you can glide on the ice to music until midnight. Park guests are also offered to ride a
snowmobile, play paintball and airsoft, visit the aqua center, and even grill kebabs in a grill
house. And, by the way, prices here are quite reasonable, suitable for any budget.
Also, here the season for entertainment is year-round — be sure to try visiting here
in the summer.
Loza Park
How to get there
Follow Yaroslavskoye Highway by car and after Sergiev Posad, turn right — towards Loza village.
If you don't have a car, take a train from Yaroslavsky railway station or bus № 388
and go to "Sergiev Posad" station, and then take a taxi.
About the slopes
In total, the complex has four slopes: three for experienced skiers and snowboarders, and one for
training. All slopes are gentle and protected from strong winds by the forest.
What to do besides skiing/riding
There are no other entertainments in the park itself, but just a couple of kilometers away there is the "Voskhod" guesthouse with a sauna, swimming pool, billiards, gym, and even its own training slope.
