Baggage and Hand Luggage Allowance on Yamal Airlines Flights
Planning a flight with Yamal Airlines? We'll tell you about the baggage rules on their flights.

Yamal's Hand Luggage Requirements
The hand luggage allowance depends on the chosen fare. Those who opted for the Economy class "Budget" fare and are flying on a subsidized flight can take hand luggage weighing up to 10 kg with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 25 cm into the cabin. Similar parameters are set for the Economy class "Standard" fare and for all Business class fares. If you chose the "Economy Light" or "Economy Flexible" fares, you'll have to downsize: the maximum hand luggage weight will be only 5 kg with the same dimensions.
As hand luggage, you can carry:
- a backpack weighing no more than 3 kg and with dimensions no more than 30x28x20 cm, or a ladies' handbag, or a briefcase with items placed inside the backpack, or bag, or briefcase;
- a bouquet of flowers;
- outerwear;
- baby food for the child for the duration of the flight;
- a suit in a garment bag;
- a child restraint device (baby bassinet, child restraint systems/devices for children under two years old, stroller, and other devices) when traveling with a child, whose dimensions do not exceed 55x40x20 cm, weighing up to 5 kg, and allow for safe placement in the aircraft cabin on the shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat in front of the passenger seat;
- medications, special dietary products for the duration of the flight;
- crutches, canes, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchairs used by the passenger;
- goods purchased in duty-free shops at the airport, packed in a sealed (plombé) plastic bag.
Separately, Yamal's rules describe the carriage of a set of tennis rackets:
- the total weight of hand luggage including rackets must not exceed the fare's established rules: up to 5 kg for "Economy Light" and "Economy Flexible" fares, up to 10 kg for "Economy Standard" fares and in business class;
- the dimensions of the packed rackets must not exceed 120 cm in the sum of three dimensions;
- if hand luggage allowances are exceeded, carriage of the equipment will be charged as sports equipment.
Also, as hand luggage, you can carry a musical instrument with dimensions not exceeding 120 cm in the sum of three dimensions and weighing up to 5 kg, free of charge on "Economy" and "Business" fares.
See other conditions on the official website of Yamal Airlines.

Baggage Allowance on Yamal Airlines Flights
The permissible baggage weight, number of pieces allowed, and whether you'll have to pay depends not only on the fare. Whether it's a subsidized or inter-municipal flight also affects the allowances. The general restriction for all is dimensions no more than 203 cm in the sum of three measurements.
- Business class ("Standard" fare): 2 pieces, up to 30 kg each;
- for participants of the "Moroshka" loyalty program on "Economy Standard" fare: 2 pieces, total weight up to 23 kg;
- Economy class ("Standard" fare, municipal flights): 2 pieces, total weight up to 23 kg;
- Economy class ("Standard" fare, including subsidized routes): 1 piece, up to 23 kg;
- Economy class ("Flexible" fare, including subsidized routes): 1 piece, up to 12 kg;
- Economy class ("Light" fare): no free baggage allowance provided.
Baggage and Hand Luggage for Passengers with Children
For children aged 2 to 12, the same baggage rules apply as for adult passengers, but discounts are provided. For example, for children under 2 years old without a separate seat on domestic flights, regardless of the fare, the discount will be 100%. If a seat is still required, the discount will be 50%.
For passengers with an infant without a separate seat, the rules allow one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 10 kg. Hand luggage is not provided in this case.
What cannot be carried in hand luggage? Piercing, cutting, explosive and poisonous items, explosives, flammable liquids, weapons, and liquids exceeding 100 ml each.
Cost of Excess Baggage with Yamal Airlines
As with any other airline, any excess over the baggage allowance (by dimensions or weight) will be considered oversized baggage. Oversized baggage is considered 1 piece over 203 cm, from 30 kg to 50 kg. Payment for the carriage of such baggage and its processing is made at the airport ticket counter during check-in. If your suitcase meets the dimensions, but the excess weight is within 7 kg, you will still have to pay, but less than for oversized baggage. Moreover, if you realize that your baggage does not fit into the already arranged carriage, the earlier you decide to make changes, the better. For example, on the "Economy Standard" fare (including subsidized and municipal flights), if you contact no later than 7 days before departure, changes can be made free of charge. And on the "Business" fare, this is allowed even up to 40 minutes before the flight's departure time.
