Beach Holiday in Dagestan on the Caspian Sea 2025
Dagestan is one of the great options for a seaside holiday in Russia. In some cities on the Caspian Sea coast, it's easy not only to see the mountains but also to swim on an inflatable flamingo and organize beach volleyball competitions with friends.
We've compiled a top 10 list of places to relax in Dagestan and talked about interesting beaches where you can enjoy the sea. Let's dive in!

Sulak
The village of Sulak is located approximately an hour to an hour and a half's drive from Makhachkala, the regional capital. This place is adored by kitesurfing enthusiasts: it boasts very clean sandy beaches and water. Tourists can stay at the «Sulak» tourist base: it offers comfortable rooms in a cottage for 12 people, and the beaches are equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers.
Makhachkala
This city is home to Dagestan's only airport — Uytash. So grab tickets to Makhachkala, to experience everything everywhere at once.

City Beach
Perhaps the most popular spot for a beach holiday in Makhachkala. Besides a clean promenade with golden sand, umbrella and sun lounger rentals, it has everything you need for a long seaside vacation: playgrounds, cozy cafes, and shops. Keep in mind that it can get very crowded here during particularly hot weather (in July and August). So, consider other options if you prefer solitude.
Black Stones
Surprisingly, on this wild beach seven kilometers from Makhachkala, you won't find black stones. Moreover, you won't see black sand here either: the beach is very clean, and the Caspian waters are azure. Of course, you shouldn't count on much infrastructure, so stock up on food, water, and a beach blanket to have a good rest.
Kaspiysk
Now we head to the city of Kaspiysk, located 20 kilometers from the capital. Here you'll also find options for a comfortable beach holiday that might appeal to you.
Laguna
This beach is considered one of the most popular in Kaspiysk. "Laguna" is fully equipped: it has sun loungers, a safe entry into the sea, and sports grounds for the most active visitors. Here you'll easily find several cafes where you can have a delicious lunch. Entry is free, but, for example, you'll have to pay for car parking and barbecue rental.
Mia Beach
An English name means +10 to service. When visiting the private Mia Beach, be prepared to pay about 700 rubles or about 2,000 rubles for gazebo rental. Not as many people relax here as on the city beach, as all tourists note the difficult road to this location. We recommend getting there by car with friends who have already conquered the path to a spot in the sun at Mia Beach. Nevertheless, you will definitely enjoy your stay here.
Zelenomorsk
This small village is located between Kaspiysk and Manas. Few people know about it, which makes Zelenomorsky beach an excellent place for those who want to go on holiday with a partner or in proud solitude. Despite being a wild beach, there's a tourist base nearby with guest houses where you can comfortably settle in. So be sure to visit Zelenomorsk for a secluded getaway.
Manas and Manaskent
These two neighboring villages boast wild beaches. Nevertheless, you can stay here not only in tents: just like in Zelenomorsk, there are tourist bases with all the conditions for a comfortable stay. Rumor has it that hedgehogs come out for a walk on the beach in the evening. Well, perhaps this fact about the beaches of Manas and Manaskent will interest you enough to decide to go on a photo hunt there.

Izberbash
It is believed that Izberbash has the cleanest beaches on the Caspian Sea. Well, no need to say it twice — let's choose some holiday options!
City Beach
Perhaps the best-equipped beach for a great holiday. First, you can swim in the sea, then build a sandcastle and decorate it with shells, and after that, choose an evening entertainment. With the latter, you'll never have difficulties here (except perhaps difficulties in choosing): you can ride jet skis, inflatable tubes, or even visit a water park. Some tourists compare Izberbash to resorts on the Black Sea coast, so if you already know, where to go in Sochi, be sure to visit this cool Dagestani resort.
Primorsky Coast
Primorsky Coast beach is located next to the "City Beach". This option is perfect for those who have had enough fun and want to relax in peace. For basic beach relaxation, there are sun loungers and changing cabins. We recommend bringing a delicious lunch, a comfortable blanket, and settling down to read books you've long put aside.
Inchkhe
Inchkhe is a great option not only for a beach holiday but also for active recreation. People come here to kitesurf, ride jet skis, and visit hydrogen sulfide springs. But we remember why everyone gathered: the beach. Light sand with shells, crystal clear water, the sound of the surf, and minimal crowds. What could be more beautiful?
Derbent
Let's visit Derbent, Russia's southernmost city. People usually come here who enjoy cultural holidays and walks along ancient fortresses. However, Derbent is ready to delight not only with its rich history but also with sun loungers on its beaches, warm water, and good service.

City Beach
Here you'll find sun loungers, umbrellas, sand interspersed with pebbles, carousels for children, cafes with national cuisine and affordable prices. The service here is quite high for those who love "all-inclusive". However, be prepared for high competition for a spot in the sun during peak beach season.
Khazar
If you want to relax away from tourists, head to the beach of Khazar village. It is located 10 kilometers from Derbent. This distance can be covered by bus. Of course, there won't be such luxury here as in the center, but the descent into the sea and the beach itself are heavenly.
Primorsky
The selection concludes with the village of Primorsky (yes, that's exactly what it sounds like) on the border of Dagestan and Azerbaijan. We believe this place is a must-visit for family travelers. Here you can rent a house at a tourist base and then head to the wild beach. Black volcanic sand where small nimble crustaceans hide, clean water, the pleasant rustle of sea waves, and picturesque sunsets. Beautiful!
