Imagine a giant rainbow frozen on the banks of the Swan River — this is The Containbow, one of the most spectacular and recognizable installations in the city of Fremantle. Created by renowned artist Marcus Canning, this art piece has become a true symbol of modern Australia, blending industrial power with creative energy.

The sculpture is a monumental arch standing 9 meters high and 19 meters long, assembled from nine recycled sea containers. Each one is painted in a vibrant color of the rainbow spectrum, creating a stunning visual contrast against the blue sky and the water's surface. The total weight of this massive structure is 66 tons, emphasizing the scale of the design.
Located in the Beach Reserve area, "The Containbow" does more than just decorate the landscape; it references the region's rich maritime heritage. The sculpture symbolizes hope, openness, and the city's close connection to its port past and present, making it one of the most photographed spots on the state's map.
