The Flame Towers (Azerbaijani: Alov qüllələri) are an impressive complex of three skyscrapers that have become one of the most recognizable symbols of modern Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Shaped like three tongues of flame, the buildings are a deeply symbolic reference to the city's coat of arms and its ancient history as a center of fire worship. Inside these architectural giants, which have a total area of 227,000 square meters, are a luxury hotel, apartments, and modern office spaces.
As the tallest buildings in Azerbaijan (reaching heights of 182, 165, and 161 meters), the Flame Towers rise majestically on a hill overlooking Baku Bay and the historical city center. Their appearance has radically changed the urban landscape, giving it a new dynamic while simultaneously emphasizing Baku's historical identity.
The Flame Towers are an especially breathtaking sight after dark. Thanks to a unique lighting system consisting of more than 10,000 LED lamps, the facades of the skyscrapers come to life, imitating the movement of tongues of flame. This light spectacle not only creates the illusion of burning buildings but also greatly enhances their symbolic meaning, turning the towers into a true beacon of modern Baku.
