Fans of active recreation and sports will love the bar area with its multiple TVs. It’s a local tradition to cheer for your favorite teams in the company of like-minded fans, ordering the famous BP wings and cold drinks. The atmosphere during major championships is always electric but remains positive and friendly.

History & Facts

The history of this famous chain began in 1964 in Edmonton, when Greek immigrant Gus Agioritis opened the first location named "Boston Pizza and Spaghetti House." The name wasn't accidental: Gus really wanted to visit Boston and decided to immortalize his dream in the restaurant's name. By the early '70s, the chain already had 17 locations operating under a franchise system.

A landmark moment was the arrival of Jim Treliving, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer, into the company. Starting as one of the first franchisees in 1968, he eventually teamed up with partner George Melville and bought the entire chain in 1983. It was under their leadership that the brand became the giant of the Canadian restaurant business we know today.

Interestingly, in 1986, the company became the official pizza supplier for Expo 86 in Vancouver, serving hundreds of thousands of guests from around the world. In the mid-'90s, sports bars were officially added to the restaurant concept, making them ideal places to watch games. While this specific branch in Terrace opened later, it is part of this rich Canadian tradition of hospitality.

Time Needed

For a full visit to Boston Pizza, you should plan for approximately 1–2 hours. This is plenty of time to leisurely browse the menu, enjoy your main course, and spend time with friends or family while catching an interesting game in the sports bar.

If your plans are tight and you just want a quick bite, the takeaway option will take about 30–45 minutes. During peak hours, such as during major sporting events or on weekend evenings, wait times may increase slightly, so keep this in mind when planning your day.

Working Hours

The establishment is open to guests daily, starting from noon. From Monday to Thursday, the restaurant operates from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM. At the end of the week, the schedule becomes a bit more flexible for those who enjoy late nights: on Friday and Saturday, the doors are open until 1:00 AM. On Sunday, the restaurant returns to its midnight closing time.

Please note that kitchen and bar hours may vary slightly depending on holidays or special sports broadcasts. To ensure you have the most up-to-date schedule, we recommend checking the official website before your visit.
