What to Do

The main magnet for thrill-seekers in the park is the exciting Tree Adventure attraction. This is an entire system of 68 challenges on a rope course, including ziplines, suspension bridges, and canopy walks right through the dense forest foliage.

If you prefer a more leisurely pace, head out to explore the numerous trails. Here, you can spend hours admiring rare orchids, enjoy some birdwatching, or simply have a picnic in the specially equipped areas. For visitors' convenience, standard and electric bicycle rentals are available, as well as a 4D cinema.

After working up an appetite from your walks, be sure to try the local street food from local vendors. Traditional Colombian treats like chorizo, popcorn, and roasted corn will add an authentic flavor to your getaway in this high-altitude reserve.

Getting There

The journey to the park is an adventure in itself. The most popular and scenic way to get here is by using the modern Metrocable (Line L). The ride in the cabin over the mountain slopes offers breathtaking panoramic views of Medellín and the surrounding landscapes.

Upon arriving at the Arví terminal station, you will find yourself near the main infrastructure. Free shuttle buses run regularly from the Metrocable exit to the entrance of Comfama Park itself, taking no more than five minutes. On weekends, these shuttles depart approximately every half hour.

For those who prefer traveling by car, the park is located at: Via Santa Elena, vereda Piedras Blancas. Despite the availability of roads, the cable car remains the most eco-friendly and impressive route option.

History & Facts

The history of Arvi Comfama Park is closely linked to an ecological initiative to create "green lungs" for the rapidly growing city of Medellín. Over several decades, this area has developed as a vital natural reserve designed to preserve the unique biodiversity of the high-altitude forests in the Antioquia department.

The Comfama organization played a special role in the park's establishment, turning the protected zone into a symbol of sustainable tourism. One of the first and most iconic projects was the Piedras Blancas ecological park, which laid the foundation for today’s scientific and educational approach to environmental protection.

Today, the park serves not only as a place for recreation but also as a base for serious scientific research. Thanks to the Biodiversity Nucleus educational initiative, specialists study the local flora and fauna, ensuring the protection of this fragile ecosystem. What began as a simple forest area has evolved into a world-class recreational center.

Time Needed

To fully experience the atmosphere of this place and have enough time for the main activities, you should set aside 4 to 8 hours for your visit to Arvi Comfama Park. If you only plan to complete the rope park and take a short walk along the trails, allocate about half a day.

Many travelers prefer to spend an entire day here, combining active games with leisurely relaxation in the shade of the trees. Keep in mind that the park closes at 5:00 PM, so the wisest decision is to arrive right at opening time to enjoy all the reserve has to offer without rushing.
