Current Weather

We invite you to check the current weather in Palermo. In this section, you will find up-to-date information and accurate forecasts to help you perfectly plan every day of your trip to Colombia.

Overview

The climate in Palermo is tropical, characterized by consistent warmth and high humidity throughout the year. Located in Colombia at about 14 meters above sea level, the city delights travelers with a lack of sharp temperature changes, making it welcoming in any season.

There is no distinct winter here in the traditional sense: seasons transition smoothly, and daylight almost always lasts about 12 hours. The main differences lie in the intensity of precipitation and cloud cover, but even during the cloudiest periods, the air remains warm and quite muggy.

Thanks to fertile soils and stable weather conditions, the region is ideal for agriculture. Consistent high humidity and plenty of sunlight create an excellent environment for local flora, giving the city's surroundings an evergreen and blooming appearance year-round.

Temperature

The temperature regime in Palermo is remarkably stable: throughout the year, the thermometer usually fluctuates between +22°C and +32°C. The highest temperatures in Colombia are often recorded during periods with less cloud cover, when daytime heat combined with high humidity creates a sense of tropical mugginess. The city welcomes guests with the warmest air in September, when the average maximum reaches nearly +29.4°C.

Nighttime temperatures bring only moderate relief, rarely dropping below +18°C to +19°C. Even during the so-called "cool" months, such as June or July, the average air temperature stays steady at around +22.6°C. Daily fluctuations are mild, so gentle warmth persists in the air almost around the clock.

Special attention should be paid to the dew point, which changes very slowly in this region. This means that even with moderate thermometer readings, the air can feel heavier and more humid, especially in the evenings. This temperature stability makes the city accessible for visiting at any time, without the need to adjust for changing seasons.

Precipitation

Palermo is characterized by abundant and frequent precipitation, distributed across the calendar without a clearly defined dry season. Rain is a common occurrence here, most often taking the form of intense downpours or thunderstorms that can quickly give way to bright sunshine. Autumn is considered the wettest period for this region of Colombia, with October and November seeing the maximum rainfall.

Spring months, especially March and April, are also marked by high rainfall frequency—the number of wet days during this period can reach 19–23 per month. At this time, humidity stays at peak levels, creating a specific tropical atmosphere. Snow is completely out of the question in the region, so travelers should prepare exclusively for warm rain.

August and September can be called relatively dry, as rainfall decreases significantly and the number of clear days increases to 22–23 per month. Nevertheless, even during these periods, brief showers remain possible, keeping the lush tropical greenery of the surrounding landscapes in perfect condition year-round.

Packing Tips

When planning a trip to Palermo, it is best to opt for clothing made of natural breathable fabrics, such as cotton or linen. Given the constant heat and high humidity in Colombia, loose t-shirts, shorts, and light trousers are the best choice. For evening walks, when the temperature might drop slightly, lightweight long-sleeved shirts will be useful, as they also provide protection against insects.

The most important accessory in your suitcase should be a reliable umbrella or a compact raincoat, as a tropical downpour can start suddenly at any time of year. Footwear should be as comfortable as possible and ideally quick-drying: open sandals for city walks or high-quality sneakers for excursions to natural attractions are suitable.

Don't forget sun protection: a sunscreen with high SPF and a hat are essential even on cloudy days, as UV radiation is very active at these latitudes. It is also recommended to always carry repellent and a bottle of drinking water to comfortably endure the humid heat.
