Airport Features and Highlights
Rovaniemi (RVN) proudly holds the title of the "Official Airport of Santa Claus", and this title is justified by every detail: from the themed decoration of the terminal to its proximity to the region's main tourist attraction — Santa Claus Village, located just 2–3 kilometres away. A unique geographical "feature" is the Arctic Circle line, which crosses the northern part of the runway.
Despite its compact size, the airport ranks third in Finland in terms of passenger traffic and is well-equipped to handle a large number of international flights, especially during the peak winter season. Passengers have access to jet bridges, which is rare for small northern airports, as well as comfortable waiting lounges, shops with Lappish souvenirs, and cafés where you can taste local delicacies before departure.
