Overall, the weather in Piraeus is favorable for tourism throughout most of the year, offering an abundance of sunny days, especially during the summer period.

The summer months, from June to August, are characterized by high temperatures, with the mercury often rising above 30°C (the average maximum in July and August is around 32°C), and precipitation is virtually non-existent—rainy days are minimal in July and August. Winter, covering the period from December to February, remains mild, with average temperatures around 9-11°C. This time of year sees more rainfall, but it is generally moderate, with the highest number of rainy days in January and December. Spring and autumn are comfortable transition seasons with pleasantly warm weather and a moderate number of sunny days, making them also attractive times to visit Piraeus.

The annual temperature regime in Piraeus follows a classic Mediterranean pattern with clearly defined seasons. The hottest months are traditionally July and August, when the average air temperature reaches nearly 28°C (27.8°C in July and 27.6°C in August), and daytime highs regularly climb above 32°C. The highest amount of precipitation and the most rainy days occur during the winter months. It is important to note that even in these wetter months, the total amount of precipitation remains low, indicating primarily light or moderate rain rather than prolonged downpours.

When planning a trip to Piraeus, consider its sunny Mediterranean climate. From late spring to early autumn, especially during the summer months (June–August) when temperatures often rise above 30°C and rain is rare, your wardrobe should consist primarily of light and breathable clothing. Items made of cotton and linen, shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses are ideal. Be sure to pack a swimsuit, sunscreen with high SPF, a hat or cap, and sunglasses. For evening walks by the sea, a light wrap or a thin windbreaker may come in handy, as it can be windy, especially near the water.
