Húsavík Harbour is the picturesque heart of the town of Húsavík, located in northern Iceland. This place is rightfully considered one of the most atmospheric ports on the island, where the daily life of fishermen is closely intertwined with tourist excitement. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and the waters of Skjálfandi Bay, the harbour charms with its colourful wooden houses and a scattering of traditional vessels.

The main feature of this place is its status: it is the recognized whale watching capital. The natural bay provides excellent protection from North Atlantic storms, making it an ideal starting point for encounters with ocean giants. Life is always bustling in the port: excursion schooners depart from here, while on shore, travellers share their impressions in cosy cafes.
In addition to sea trips, the harbour is famous for its cultural sites. Right by the water in a former slaughterhouse building is the famous Whale Museum, where you can see an impressive blue whale skeleton. This is not just a transport hub, but a true hallmark of Iceland, combining rugged northern nature and authentic hospitality.
