Manakula Vinayagar Temple is one of the most famous and revered Hindu temples, located in the heart of the city of Puducherry on the southeastern coast of India. This ancient temple, whose history spans several centuries and predates the French period, is dedicated to the god Ganesha. Here he is worshipped under the name Vinayagar — the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and the removal of any obstacles on one's life path.

The temple is a magnificent example of traditional Tamil architecture. Its exterior is striking with bright colors, and the high gate (gopuram) is richly decorated with many detailed sculptures of deities and mythological creatures. Inside, the walls are painted with frescoes depicting various forms of Ganesha and scenes from sacred texts. The gilded chariot, on which the main statue of the deity is taken out during festivals, deserves special attention.
Manakula Vinayagar is not only an important religious center but also one of the city's main tourist attractions, attracting thousands of pilgrims and curious travelers every day. A visit to the temple allows for a deep immersion into the spiritual atmosphere of South India, to see colorful rituals, and to feel the peace of this holy place. Previously, visitors were greeted at the entrance by a temple elephant, who blessed them with her trunk.
