The summer season, particularly July and August, is characterized by high temperatures reaching an average of 30°C and minimal rainfall. This is the ideal time for those seeking sun and a beach holiday, as rainy days during this period are a rarity. The sky over Bari remains clear and cloudless for most of the summer.

Autumn and winter bring a gradual drop in temperature and an increase in rainy days, especially in November and December. However, even in the coldest months, such as January, the thermometer rarely drops below 7–8°C. Spring and early autumn offer travellers a "happy medium" with comfortable warmth that is perfect for long walks around the sights without the exhausting heat.

The climate in Bari can be described as typical Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot summers. A feature of Bari's temperature regime is the moderate difference between day and night figures. Throughout the year, daily fluctuations average 3–7 degrees, which eliminates the sharp changes typical of a continental climate. Spring (especially April and May) and autumn (October) delight with pleasant warmth from 14°C to 19°C, creating ideal conditions for sightseeing tourism without exhausting heat.

When packing for Bari in summer, when the air temperature often rises to 30°C, opt for light clothing made from natural breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen. Since July and August are the driest and sunniest months, be sure to pack a hat, quality sunglasses, and reliable sunscreen to protect yourself from the active southern sun.

For trips during the winter period and the off-season, when the average temperature hovers around 10–15°C, it is best to use the layering principle. Take jeans, jumpers, and a comfortable mid-season jacket or windbreaker to protect against the sea breeze. Considering that the number of rainy days increases from November to March, a compact umbrella or raincoat will be a useful addition to your wardrobe.

Regardless of the season, the main item on your list should be comfortable and proven flat shoes, as walks along the ancient cobbled streets require comfort. We also recommend bringing a light scarf or cardigan: even after a hot summer day, the evening wind from the Adriatic Sea can bring a pleasant but noticeable coolness.
