Roberts International Airport (ROB) is not only the main air gateway to Liberia, but also a place with a rich history. Built in the 1940s for the needs of the US Air Force, today it bears the name of the country's first president, Joseph Jenkins Roberts, and serves as a key link between West Africa, Europe, and America. The airport is located 56 kilometres from the capital city of Monrovia and serves as the starting point for exploring this amazing country. Boasting one of the longest runways in the region, it is ready to accommodate even large long-haul aircraft.

Although Roberts International Airport is the only major international airport in the country, it offers passengers the necessary set of amenities for a comfortable journey. Following recent renovations and the construction of a new modern passenger terminal, opened between 2017 and 2019, conditions at the airport have significantly improved. The terminal is designed to ensure faster and more convenient processing of all pre-flight procedures. While the airport is not large in size, it effectively fulfills its task, serving as the first step for thousands of travellers on their way to discovering the culture and nature of Liberia.
