Everyone will find something to do in this park, whether seeking an adrenaline rush or looking to spend some quiet time in the fresh air. Be sure to try the popular attractions: the Flying Chair, which gives you the feeling of soaring over the grounds, and the 18-meter Twist Tower — a choice for the bravest guests. For those who prefer the classics, there's the Ferris Wheel, offering wonderful views of the park, especially during sunset hours.

Beyond the breathtaking carousels, there are excellent conditions for a peaceful break. You can organize a family picnic in the shaded areas or attend one of many events. The park regularly hosts interesting educational activities, such as spelling bees and mental math competitions, making a visit not just fun but also beneficial for children's development.

Themed mask parties are often held for young visitors, and the friendly staff is always ready to help organize a birthday party or a school excursion. The atmosphere of constant celebration, cleanliness, and safety allows adults to relax and de-stress while children master the Lift Aircraft flight simulator or ride the colorful "flying cars."

Getting There

Garden City Amusement Park is conveniently located on Birabi Street, in the Rurome-Rezigbu area, right near the busy Stadium Road. Thanks to this location, the site is easy to find on maps and is well-known to local drivers.

If you are coming from the city center, for example, from GRA Junction, you should head southwest toward Tombia Street. After the roundabout, pass by SDD-GRA Jct. and turn right onto Emeyal Street. One more small maneuver at the roundabout, and you will be on Birabi Street, where the entrance to this world of entertainment is located.

For tourists, the most comfortable way to get there is by taxi or by using ride-hailing apps. You can also use a rental car or public transport following Stadium Road, which is a major city thoroughfare.

History & Facts

The history of this place began with the idea of filling the gap in quality family leisure venues. Before 2006, Port Harcourt had almost no specialized areas where parents could safely relax with their children, which became the impetus for this ambitious project.

The first major step was the launch of the Garden City Christmas Family Funfair in 2007. Organized in collaboration with a local polo club, the event was a massive success and caught the attention of high-ranking state officials, becoming an annual tradition. The public's immense interest confirmed it: the city needed a permanent amusement park.

The park gained its current form and permanent address in October 2013, when it officially opened its doors to visitors. Becoming a pioneer in the entertainment industry in Southern and Southeastern Nigeria, the park was the first in the region to introduce world-class rides, setting high standards for safety and quality leisure in a calm and friendly atmosphere.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and have time to try the main attractions, visitors usually need between 3 and 5 hours. This is enough time for leisurely walks, participating in active games, and a small picnic in the designated areas.

If you are planning a visit with children, especially on weekends or holidays when extra entertainment is provided, it’s best to set aside half a day. This will allow you to visit your favorite carousels without rushing and fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of "edutainment" for which the park is famous.

Working Hours

Garden City Amusement Park is open to visitors daily, making it easy to plan a visit on both weekdays and weekends. From Monday to Saturday, the complex operates from 10:00 to 19:00, and on Sunday it opens slightly later — from 11:00 to 19:00.

Since the schedule may change depending on holidays or special corporate events, we strongly recommend checking the current schedule on the park's official website before heading out.
