The Metropolitan Natural Park Visitor Center is your starting point for exploring the amazing world of wildlife located right within the city limits of Panama City, the capital of Panama. The Metropolitan Natural Park (Parque Natural Metropolitano) itself is a unique phenomenon—it is the only urban natural park in Latin America offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a tropical forest atmosphere without leaving the metropolis.

The park covers an impressive 232 hectares and represents a precious surviving section of Pacific tropical dry forest. Its creation was aimed at protecting the unique ecosystem and rich biodiversity of the forest area adjacent to the famous Panama Canal. It is a true green oasis that plays a vital role in preserving the region's natural heritage.
Your journey through the park begins at the Visitor Center. Here, you can get all the necessary information about the trails, rules of conduct, and, of course, the wonderful inhabitants you might encounter. The park is home to 284 species of trees, including endemic orchids, 45 species of mammals, 254 species of birds, as well as many reptiles and amphibians. It is a wonderful place for hiking, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.
