Laguindingan International Airport is the main aerial gateway to Northern Mindanao and a modern replacement for the old Lumbia Airport. Situated on the picturesque coast, it welcomes travellers with a fresh sea breeze and much more stable weather conditions than its predecessor located in the mountains. The airport serves not only the dynamic city of Cagayan de Oro but also neighbouring Iligan, as well as the resort areas of Misamis Oriental province, acting as a key transport hub for the entire region.

Airport Features and Highlights:
Reliability and Location. Unlike the old airport, which often closed due to fog, Laguindingan is built on a coastal plain. This ensures excellent visibility and minimises flight delays, while passengers are treated to a beautiful view of Macajalar Bay during the approach.
Convenient Transfer. One of the airport's highlights is the well-organised shuttle system (Laguindingan Airport Express, Magnum Express, and others). Comfortable minibuses meet every flight and quickly transport tourists directly to the main shopping centres of Cagayan de Oro (Centrio, Limketkai) or to Iligan for a fixed price.
Delicious Souvenirs. In the departure zone, you can find kiosks selling local delicacies, including the famous pastel (buns with custard filling) from the VjANDEP brand — an ideal gift that can be purchased at the last minute before departure.
Development Prospects. The airport has come under the management of a major operator, Aboitiz InfraCapital, which is carrying out a large-scale modernisation of the terminal and implementing new service standards, aiming to transform it into a fully-fledged world-class international hub.
