Located on Glory Square (Ploshchad Slavy) in the central part of Khabarovsk, the Eternal Flame Memorial is one of the most majestic monuments in the region. This monumental complex, built in honor of the region's residents who showed courage during the Great Patriotic War, is rightfully considered the spiritual heart of the city and a landmark of the cultural heritage of Russia.
The visual appearance of the memorial is impressive in its austerity and solemnity: an 8-meter concrete wall is faced with noble black and pink granite. In the center of the semi-circular composition, a flame burns upon a copper base in the shape of a five-pointed star, symbolizing undying memory. The names of nearly 40,000 Far Eastern soldiers are carved on the walls, making this the largest memorial complex in Khabarovsk.

The site holds special symbolic value due to the fact that soil brought from the battlefields where Khabarovsk residents fought is laid at its foundation. It is a place where time seems to stand still, allowing visitors to reflect in silence on the past and pay tribute to the feat of heroes.
