Kooperativ

About

Imagine a space where the aromas of Vietnamese soup, American wings, and Far Eastern delicacies meet in a single hall. Kooperativ is a unique gastronomic bar space that has become a true "vibrant hub" in the city of Vladivostok. Located on two floors, this establishment in Russia offers a fast-casual format: high-quality quick dishes in a stylish setting.

The lower floor immerses guests in a mysterious 60s atmosphere with neon signs and cozy dim lighting, perfect for evening cocktails. The second floor, by contrast, is filled with light thanks to panoramic windows, making it an excellent choice for daytime lunches. Here, about 14 different world cuisines — from classic European to exotic Pan-Asian — are united under one roof.

The project's main idea is the opportunity to take a gastronomic journey without having to leave the building. Open kitchens allow you to watch the cooking process, while democratic prices make delicacies accessible to a wide range of visitors. It's a place where traditions and modern street food trends meet.

What to Do

The main activity here is, of course, tasting food. You can try authentic Pho Bo at the Pho Do bar, enjoy Peking duck at "Duck Stories," or sample Jewish hummus and shakshuka. Meat lovers will enjoy the American buffalo wings with original sauces, while those who appreciate local products will love the fresh seafood at the "Gady i Kraby" (Shellfish & Crabs) corner.

Besides food, Kooperativ offers an extensive bar menu. In the lower zone, you can relax to quality music while sipping classic or signature cocktails. The open kitchens create an immersive effect: watching chefs skillfully prepare lula kebab at the Transcaucasian "Brtuch" or rolling sushi turns an ordinary lunch into a small show.

The space is ideal for large groups, as every guest can choose a dish to their taste while staying at a shared table. The atmosphere is often lively and sociable. Keep an eye on the schedule: there may be trivia games, themed evenings, or DJ sets that fill the space with energy.

Getting There

Finding Kooperativ is easy, as it is located in the historical and business center of the city at 2A Fontannaya Street. A landmark for tourists is the popular Zuma restaurant located nearby. Thanks to its central location, the gastrobar is easy to reach from anywhere in the city.

If you prefer public transport, use buses or trams going to stops near Fontannaya Street or Semenovskaya Square. From most key sights in central Vladivostok, the walk takes only 10–20 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the sea air and city architecture.

For those who value comfort, taxis or car-sharing are optimal choices. A trip from the railway station takes about 5–10 minutes depending on traffic. If traveling by private car, keep in mind that parking in the city center can be difficult, especially in the evenings and on weekends.

History & Facts

The history of this modern space began in 2020. The establishment took over the building at 2A Fontannaya St, where the Paulaner Bräuhaus restaurant was previously located. The building itself was erected in the 2010s on the site of former warehouses, but it was the arrival of this new gastronomic project that gave the place a second life and made it a key point on the city map.

The soft opening took place in early January 2020 and immediately caused a stir. The gastro-food court format with 14 kitchens and 7 bars was new to the local market. Project founders Artem Romanovsky and Andrey Filippov aimed to create a "vibrant hub" that would promote local gastro-culture and offer guests restaurant-level service at affordable prices.

Over the years, the project has undergone several transformations: from expansion and the opening of the "Kooperativ 2.0" branch to changes in management structure and the lineup of food corners. Despite the fact that the neighboring legendary restaurant Zuma suffered from a fire in 2022, Kooperativ continued to operate, remaining an island of stability and variety for gourmets.

Interestingly, the design of the first floor is a nod to the atmosphere of the 1960s. The dim lighting, neon signs, and characteristic bar counters create a unique visual code that sets the venue apart from many other nightclubs and bars in Vladivostok.

Time Needed

To just grab a bite at one of the food corners, 45 minutes to 1 hour will be enough. However, the venue's concept encourages longer stays: guests often move from one counter to another, trying different dishes and drinks.

If you are planning a full "gastro-tour" of world cuisines or want to spend an evening in the bar area, allow for 2–3 hours. In the case of special events such as quizzes or themed parties, your visit could last the entire evening, providing plenty of impressions.

Working Hours

The establishment usually opens its doors to guests daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. This schedule allows for an early lunch or a cozy evening dinner. On weekends, hours may be extended, especially for the bar areas.

Please note that the current schedule may change depending on the season or private events. We recommend checking the official website or confirming opening hours by phone before your visit to ensure your trip is as comfortable as possible.
