Imagine a powerful splash frozen in metal: The Whale Project is one of the most impressive modern landmarks in the city of Juneau. The central element of the composition is a life-sized bronze sculpture of a humpback whale named Tahku. This six-ton giant, created by sculptor Skip Wallen, seems to burst from the mirror-like surface of an infinity pool, symbolizing the untamed power of nature for which the USA is so famous.

This is not just a static monument, but a dynamic installation located on a picturesque waterfront. The sculpture reaches a height of 7.6 meters, and its placement is so well-chosen that the whale's gaze is almost at the visitor's eye level. This architectural solution creates an amazing effect of personal contact with the marine giant against the backdrop of Alaska's rugged landscapes.
A whole system of water effects is arranged around Tahku: cascades imitate waves, special nozzles create a cloud of mist reminiscent of a whale's blow, and nighttime LED lighting turns the pool into a magical spectacle. The installation has become a true symbol of Juneau, blending art, modern technology, and a deep respect for the ocean's ecosystem.
