The main feature of Monte Calvario is its recreation of the Stations of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Visitors are greeted by an impressive staircase leading up the slope. Along the path are 14 sculptural compositions, each depicting one of the stations of the cross. The path culminates at the summit, where a monumental 22-meter cross stands, visible from many points in the city. This site attracts both pilgrims and tourists wishing to connect with history and culture.
In addition to the Stations of the Cross, the complex features other interesting sites, such as the Chapel of St. Gemma and a replica of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. The hill is covered with eucalyptus, pine, and olive trees, making the walk particularly pleasant and conducive to quiet contemplation. Monte Calvario offers not only a deep spiritual experience but also the opportunity to enjoy silence, beautiful nature, and magnificent panoramic views of the Tandil area.
